Fallout 4 Black Screen on Bootcamp Mac Mini Windows 10

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 8:38 pm

I have a Mac Mini that I have used Bootcamp to load Windows 10 on with 8GB Ram and an Intel Iris 5100 Graphics Card. Upon clicking play on the Start Menu a black screen comes up and the game crashes. The game is not detecting my Graphics Card and there is not a way to manually select on the Intel Manager to use the card on Fallout 4 like with an AMD or NVIDIA. Any suggestions? Will Fallout 4 even run on an Intel Iris Card?

No it won't. It's performance is well below that of the GTX 550 Ti, which is the bare minimum graphics card needed to run Fallout 4.

I misspoke on the Graphics Card, it is a Iris 5200 instead of a 5100 does that make any difference at all?

Intel Cards are not really designed for playing games. They have become better at them but still a dedicated 3d card does a much better job.

Afraid not - it's slightly better than the Iris 5100, but still pretty far below the GTX 550 Ti.
