Fallout 3 boring?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 1:22 am

Hey! Well, I got Fallout 3 last christmas and I played it like for a couple of days and I got bored. It really made me dissapointed since I like the concept but still the game was too "big". I quit playing when I reached this lab of some sort. After the radio tower and such. But i figured, why not give it another chance? I started playing today for a short amount of time. So my question is: If I didn't like the game when I reached this point, will I like it if I give it another chance or not? What am I supposed to do in the game :S? When I played I was just wandering around the wasteland looking for trouble ^^

It's not boring. The only other games I've played over 100 hours of is GTA San Andreas and the Hitman series.

Or go on a killing spree! Blow up a city! Create little ash piles all around the wasteland that never... friggin'... go away!

From level 1 through 20 I was "very evil". I stole stuff, asked someone to repair all of my gear and then killing them to get the money back.

Yeah, that. Run around, look in caves/ruins/buildings, find new guns, meet new people, help or kill them...... See what all there is out there to see. :)

(On the other hand..... well, not everyone likes the same stuff. FO3 may just not be your game. It happens.)

It depends. What is your previous experience of RPGs? If you're more of a Call Of Duty gamer (not that there's anything wrong with that) rather than an Oblivion gamer, then there's a good chance you won't like Fallout 3. In contrast, if you've been reared on deep, complex RPGs like Arena and Baldur's Gate, then you may find Fallout 3 too shallow. I personally was very disappointed on my first play-through, but when I went back to it, I absolutely loved it. It's a fantastic game, but you might not agree. However yes, I would recommend sinking in 30 or 40 hours. If you're not hooked by then, you probably won't ever like it

If you did not like the game before and found it boring, I doubt playing it now will change your mind. If you did not connect, have that spark and want to get on the PC, xbox, or PS3 and play it the next day your not going to enjoy it now. I would just trade it in and look for something that gives you the spark to play. Nothing wrong in you not liking it, it's not for everyone. Good luck on your new game and I would never touch fallout 3 again.

But what's the appeal in risking your life exploring?

What made it boring? Too much walking? Not enough action?

that makes a lot of sense, kill all the merchants, you're a genius, i prob have way more of everything than you do and i use all the merchants and never kill them, killing them is about the dumbest thing i ever heard, you probably don't play the game for very long because if you killed all the merchants, there is nobody left to buy your stuff or to buy supplies or ammo from. so i doubt your a serious FO3 player.

Yeah, there's a RIGHT way to play fallout 3! If somebody's playing it wrong, they're playing it wrong!

Waaah waah waah! (Baby crying), I'm such a loser for killing the merchants and scavengers! I totally forgot that I'm not a serious Fallout player! Why can't I be like all the popular and download the nvde female models instead of actually playing the game.

Being a "serious" Fallout 3 player is such a trivial thing, go frog yourself :P

This is not necessarily true. Most of the games I loved I didn't really like them when I first tried to play them.

If you like linear games that don't allow for much if any freedom to make choices and explore then you won't like this game.

FO3 is probably not the game for you, then. :)

While there's a main plot to follow in them, the main "selling point" of Bethesda's open-world-style RPGs (Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout 3) *is* the entire "let's wander over that hill and under that cave just to see what there is to see!"

It's pretty much the best feature of their games.

That's probably why I love Bethesda games. Being able to do whatever I want whenever is what really appeals to me.
