Are there really only 1 BOS officer uniform in-game??

SPOILER- I totally murdered Paladin Brandis for it, but I didn't think it was as rare as it is, so I sold it I think... Or tossed it.. Anyway it's gone

Not only is there just the one, but you can only obtain it in that one scene. After that scene *spoilers ahead* the person wearing it, if alive, will switch uniforms to the standard grey variant.

You don't technically have to kill him to get it, but the only other way is if you've invested heavily in Pick Pocket perks before doing that mission.

Yeah I know.. I'm level 73 now and my only regret is that I didn't realize how insanely badass it looks. SPOILER-the old man wearing it was completely insane so I just put him out of his misery. I have have scoured the wasteland for one ever since I knew how it just shows pure power and leadership

There's also another unique BOS item I wanted and got a couple of days ago-Lancer Kells's airship hat

I'd love to get the hat as well! But I suppose I can always invest points in Pickpocket later...and hope that I don't get caught. None of my characters ever invest in stealth, so I wonder if there is a way to pickpocket clothing from a named NPC without being caught and without stealth perks.

The black uniform would look awesome on my current character, especially with combat armor. I would even think that the Polymer armor (white) would look good with it, even though BoS or Shadowed would look even more badass.

I have a full set of heavy BOS combat armor(except helmet as I don't want it) and it does indeed look very badass with the grey uniform.

I'll tell you how you can get Kells' hat: First of all you'll need rank 4 pickpocket and then you have a 90% chance he won't detect you( I basically stripped him clean without him even noticing) but strange as it is, he won't give you the opportunity to steal his hat and fatigues...unless you punch him first so he flinches and then immediately hit X to steal his unique hat, fatigues and gun.

But wouldn't punching him make him and everyone else hostile? D: My current character is planning on siding with the Brotherhood for the Nuclear Option, so he doesn't want to piss anyone off (except Maxson. My character would probably want to punch him in the throat, especially during/after Blind Betrayal!).

No he won't become hostile as you have to punch him many times in a row and fast for that to happen

I also sided with the BOS. Basically crouch, punch, strip

I have 5 of the Officer uniforms, thanks to the still active dogmeat exploit. I have one, gave one to my current follower and sport the remaining 3 on my home settlement guards.

What other items are rare that you have to steal to get? Is there a list anywhere? Cheers

I only know of Captain Kells' hat. But you can get a railroad coat from one of the dead rail members after/If you side with BOS

I stole his black BoS uniform waaaaay later than that.. and I love wearing it.

There's some kind of glitch to this. If you don't kill him and get him to rejoin the brotherhood and THEN instantly kill him for his uniform, he will respawn at the prydwen later

Can you steal Brandis's uniform during The Lost Patrol?

Yes you can

As others have said, you only have the one opportunity to get it. His is the only one, and he's not wearing it after completing that quest. I didn't want to kill him for it and my pickpocket wasn't high enough to get it. For those on PC who are so inclined, you can get them through the console.

One last question. Can it be stolen from him during that quest? Or do you need to do something specifically?

After that scene, it cannot be acquired by any means but console commands on PC.

So far I know, Brandis wears a unique pure black suit during that quest. After that he'll be wearing usual BOS higher-ups' grey suit - if you managed to get him back to BOS.

Yea, you're the only one who discover the need to punch Kells to steal his hat and uniform, because I could steal both of his unique items without any jabs needed.

Here's my 'discovery': Pickpocket him from behind when nobody is looking and your status is set to [HIDDEN].

Any worn items won't be shown in the subject's Inventory list when your status is [DETECTED], causing you to not be able to steal the item.

Either that or your game is bugged.

You can grab Railroad Coat from Glory, if you're lucky enough. Otherwise, during

quest, you'll see bunch of Railroad Agents with those Coats. Just loot away when they're dead

I assume you want clothes, so here you go. These are so far I remember and found:

- Proctor Quinlan's unique variant (Prydwen)

- Captain Cade's unique variant (Prydwen)

- Captain Kells' unique variant (Prydwen)

- Irma's furcoat (Memory Den, Goodneighbour)

- Tinker Tom's Headgear (Railroad HQ)

- Railroad Agent's suit (Glory, Railroad HQ or any Railroad Agent during a quest I said above)

- Desdemona's fatigue (Railroad HQ)

- Maxson's coat (requires him to be killed to acquire; Prydwen)

- Father's coat (requires him to be killed to acquire; Institute)

- Synth uniform (Institute). May come as a loot if you're really lucky. Otherwise, you gotta steal them from Institute shopkeepers, guards, or take from X6-88's inventory

I can't think of anyone else right now. Let someone else add up the steal-able special list. Good luck.

I guess it's dependent if you are able to get Brandis to rejoin the BoS, because after I turned in that quest back to Danse, he was still wearing it when I came back afterwards to kill him for it. If you fail the charisma challenge and he doesn't rejoin the Brotherhood, he remains in that outpost forever.
