Fallout: BoS

Post » Sun Mar 27, 2011 7:38 am

This, along with tactics, is the only FO game I have yet to digest. I got my local PlaynTrade to toss it in the xbox for a few minutes, and from what I could tell from the box cover and first few minutes of gameplay, it is completely unlike any other FO game (and not in any real good way to me). It reminded me, in a very bad way, of those american Contra games for the Playstation. Not the gameplay mind you, but in the way that it seemed only to be a pale shadow of its' former self.
Am I judging to harshly, too soon?
Are there any fans of this game, who could come forward and tell me what makes this one worth playing?

It would be social suicide for anyone to admit they liked that game and call themselves a Fallout fan.

Please call your local Fire Department and have them dispatch as HAZMAT team to your house. I believe they've all been trained in what to do.

(Note: Humour, please do not actually call the fire department, no matter how bad the game is).

I think it's a great game and a must-have for any Fallout fan. It is totally canon, I love poop jokes and the swearing is over the top. Plus the vault dweller from FO1 is in it and he's old and loves guns. Nah, just kidding, there is a reason why the community has dubbed it PoS and it wasn't made by any of the original devs at alll. It's basically a mod of a (superior actually) baulder's gate spinoff that just isn't fun. It has BoS, some raiders, the vault dweller, and some of the same enemies, but it just doesn't feel the same. I made the mistake of buying it used after getting FO3. Don't make the same mistake as me

From all accounts it was very bad and wildly un-canonical.

Never played it, but I'd give it a whirl just for lulz. If you can get it for like 5 bucks, why not?

True fans should play this game, if only to say they have.

Could be trendy to have an "Ironic" playthrough of this game.

Yeah I've played it and it was pretty good as an arcade shooter, but not the best game in the world and it did somewhat despoil the fallout name. Its worth playing if your into Arcade shooters, at least I can say I've played and completed it, not like some people who haven't and shouldn't therefore voice any opinion other than I've never played it! Worth a blast once in your life :)

However, we have no objections to actually putting it in a cannon...

I really wish it was a couple of levels bigger and more indepth rpg-wise, could have been a cracking game, shame though! Canon? Nah why bother. The lack of depth for me really doesn't qualify it for very much other than an arcade shooter spin-off. Still fun to play.

I own it too, the PS2 version. To put it simply, it's a Fallout themed mod for the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance game. How it was sold for full price i'll never understand. I specifically got it after coming here for Fallout 3 and hearing the game svcks majorly. I was not disappointed, it does.

I'm a fan of Fallout. Every Fallout game I've played doesn't match up to this one.

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was the best, no doubt, in the series. It raised a whole other bar for top-down gaming. This game is one of the best ever made. All the cool characters, weapons, and quests really delve into your emotions and you are wrapped around the game like no other. This game is definately a must-buy for ANY gamer.

I own every Fallout game, even that which shall not be mentioned (see title). I have played them all. I loved Dark Alliance 1/2...They rocked beyond words, but the game that shall not be mentioned was horrible.

Fallout BOS=Fallout POS.

Any one who says "Fallout 3 svcks", or "Fallout 1+2 svck", or "NV svcks", or for that matter "Tactics svcks", should be forced to sit down and play BOS, and see how truly bad a Fallout game can be.

That game svcked.

PoS cannot be digested. You can try to swallow it, but it goes through your system as a hard lump of hot stone - more clearly, it hurts like hell.

That statement could be the one that unites all new and old Fallout fans. ;]

I've never played the game myself, either, but what I hear about it suggests it was the Fallout game thrown to and destroyed by the devil. The explanation, I heard, for its [censored] quality(from what I know, it's [censored]), was at least a good deal because Black Isles was forced to make a console game, and because many of its writers(and employees in general) had been laid off.
Though I mainly only know the game as horrible from other players' words, I will say if you look at the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-Xs1tm-9-U...yeah...it doesn't promise much. I love all the Fallout trailers, they all suggest they're great games, and they all really show the tone of the game...All of them, except for Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel. Which, if much worse, would have made my ears and eyes bleed.

I really hope you're joking. I really do

If not, I think you need to go see a doctor.

[Medicine] He should prescribe you with a good dose of Fallout 1 and 2 with some New Vegas sprinkled in. That should make you better

What is the Bomb Squad going to do for a toxic product?

I think you mean a HAZMAT team.
