1916,,,,
John Cantius Garand smiled at Black Jack Pershing. "Your M1 rifle has performed admirably in our campaign against Mexican bandits.. Villa himself was killed by an M1-armed trooper of the 3rd Armored Car corps." Pershing signed the order; within months, production of the M1903 Springfield ceased and M1 Garands had re-equipped all front line military units by March 1st, 1917.

The lynching of President Woodrow Wilson by the Ku Klux Klan killed any desire by the U;S. to enter the Great European War. The Boer War(1908-1913)had killed British support for any European wars. The Japanese annexation of the Ottoman Empire in 1911 had caused BRitain to abandon South Africa and shore up its defences in North Africa, India, Burma, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.

The French were equally active in containing Japanese expansionism by pulling entire armies from the German border. They reinforced French colonies in Vietnam and North Africa and Madagascar. The Germans occupied Constantinople and massed forces along the parts of Europe bordering the former Ottoman Empire.
The wild card was Russia.

In May, 1914, the whole world was shocked when the Russo-Japanese Eternal Peace Pact occured. It worked, mainly because the Japanese were too busy pillagnig their newest Imperial acquisitions. Japanese atrocities included a mass genocide that resulted in Islam becoming a defunct religion. The granting Indepedence to Israel by Emperor Hirohito was in large part due to the flow of both money and advanced technology to the Imperial conquest effort.

Russia attacked Austria-Hungary in June, 1914, THe Russian High Command expected to invade Germany by Austria-HUngary
Thing was, Emperor Franz JOsef had began a series of military reforms which had transformed his army into motorized power house complete with no less than fifty machineguns per battalion. THree entire Russian armies were encircled and destroyed in the Battle of Budapest on July 1st, 1914.

Germany mobolized its armies to help its ally. Russia had the Bolshevik Revolution.in March, 1917, and The Bolsheviks agreed to an armistice in April, 1917. And now it is 1930, and Eugene SToner is working on the AR15 rifle,..

I 've heard rumors that some people have invented Fallout Modifications in which they used WWI as their beginning. In my Falloutverse variant, what if the changes that caused Fallout began in 1908? This way, we all can do multiple prequels to the Big War of 2077

Chapter Two

August, 1930. He worked on the AR15 project rifle before. Eugene Stoner's humble workshop defied the brutal heat itself, being painted all white to deflect the harsh sunlight. A rotating fan provided small comfort as the radio blared 'Brother can you spare a dime?' The radio was second hand, but Eugene rebuilt it with all new metal vacuum tubes. Again, the outside of said radio was white-colored, these two meaures prevented overheating that could cause a fire.

Eugene was thrifty, not foolish. He wore white coveralls and a white derby, because you'd better stand the heat of summer. Eugene himself worked 4.5 days a week,
at Armalite aircraft company, as a machinist. He weekend began at noon Fridays. Eugene spent his time at home on the AR15 rifle project.

'Good, it is finished.' smiled Stoner. 'By chrome plating the chamber and increasing the gas tube's width to one inch, that ended the jamming problems'. Stoner took the AR15 and went outside. Although he worked in town, Stoner bicycled to work from his rural plains of Illinois.

Old bottles and cans were set up at a crude firing range. Stoner began firing. It felt good to shoot up stuff for target practice. 'No jams, parts breakages, or catastrophic failures'. Stoner now recorded his results and cleaned his rifle. He returned to house his house and began typing up letters . By three p.m, he had mailed them. THe wheels of chaos began turning...
