They had one, it was the Pipboy edition. Will they have a different one titled the Collectors Edition with something else in it? We don't know, they'd have announced it by now if there was. So, I'd guess the Pipboy Edition was the Collectors Edition.
Yes the PipBoy Edition is the Collector's Edition. Todd said so when he introduced the new Pipboy at E3.
If I recall correctly they made a load more Pip-Boy editions than they made Skyrim Collectors' editions.
I'm not aware of Skyrim editions still being for sale, merely for resale.
I think Skyrim's collector's edition might have been limited too, but I think the whole concept of ordering collector's editions has taken off quite a bit in the last few years and many more people than expected ordered one.
I hope they produce more at some point though, lots of fans want a Pip-Boy.
They made lots more PipBoy editions that Skyrim CEs......the only reason this sold out while Skyrim CEs didn't is because Fallout 4 is a billion times more awesome. I almost missed out on the PipBoy edition....that was an insane crazy day. I actually did miss out on it the first time and then started taking measures to ensure I would not miss out on it the second time as they announce they'd try to get more and then monitored things every day. When the PipBoy edition was restocked I was ready to pounce and sure as hell I got it.....after fiddling in frenzied panick with the gamestop website for some 15 to 20 minutes because it decided it was a good time to force me to reset my password before I could do anything else and you can bet the site was lagging too as everyone, their mother and their pets were all on there trying to get the PipBoy at the same time. But in the end I emerged victorious.
Wow, indeed - it's still possible to get the Skyrim Collector's Edition firsthand!

Now that said, I think Bethesda games, and RPGs in general, have a lot more general population acceptance and appeal than the pre-skyrim era. Skyrim is when things really started to take off IMO, but leading up to that, I wouldn't be surprised if collector's edition sales were relatively low.
Ok, back to the OP - The pip-boy edition is the collector's edition as others have said. I went ahead and picked it up, but I was likely to sell/cancel it if Bethesda came out with a "deluxe" edition, something between the regular and pip-boy versions. Unfortunately, Beth has confirmed that there will only be two versions of the game available - the regular and pip-boy versions (I can't remember where, but I'm sure Google knows).
Yeah, the Skyrim CE was limited..... but that big (extra-expensive) statue just wasn't a huge draw, it seems.
(in general, all "Collector's Editions" are limited run. The extra swag that gets put in the box - cards, art books, statues, action figures, whatever - are only produced in a certain quantity. And once that's gone, it's hard/expensive for them to make more. But it's still quite possible for CEs to end up sitting on the store shelf a year+ later, if they misjudged demand or picked bonus items that people aren't interested in.)
People wanted those Pipboys...Can't wait to see what skyrocketed prices on Ebay for those things.
There's one on there for $850 - doesn't mean anyone will buy it (nor should they)...
you'd likely be able to commision someone to make a metal version for cheaper than $850
There are plenty of places on the internet where you can order 3D printed Pip-Boys (that hold your phone) for less than $200. Obviously it' isn't "official" much less no guarantee quality.
