Fallout 2 Companion Ai Bug?

Ok, Sulik, Lenny, and Cassidy never follow me around anymore. They stay at the entrance to each area unless we enter combat. Sometimes they don't even come to my aid in combat if comabt begins too far away from the entrance. This started in Redding, I think, but I've been to VC and Broken Hills since and it's the same thing. Any help? It's pretty annoying.

Use your right click to look at them with the binocular icon, they might be injured. Are you using any of Kilap's patches or anything? This sometimes happens after visiting the Ghost Farm area. Hope this helps!

Might be injured, but because they all started doing it at the same time, seems unlikely. Recently did a fresh install of the trilogy which includes official patches. I have used Kilap's Restoration Mod in the past, but didn't realize he made patches too (am ignorant). Will his patches invalidate saves? Level 15 and don't feel like starting over atm. Thanks for the help!

He's got a patch for Fallout 2 which fixes pretty much every single thing imaginable. The guy's kind of a mad man. And yes, you'd have to start all over if you installed it now-- :(

Answer me one thing about your issue though: Have you gone to the Ghost Farm just outside of Modoc?

Yeah, I went through the ghost farm :(

Think it's reasonable to try to finish the game this way? I mean, I guess I can always try to lure enemies back to my companions.

I should have known better not to research patches. This is my third run on the game, but I've never actually finished it before. Have finished Fallout 1 3-4 times. I am no stranger to NMA, though I never registered. I shouldn't be so ignorant, one would think. :sadvaultboy:

Don't worry about it. If you went through the Ghost Farm you all got injured when you fell through the floor of the shack onto the ground. All you need is to heal and use the doctor skill on them. Time to start putting your skill points in Doctor (or you could use Falche--but I never said that ;) ).

Thank you sir. That makes perfect sense. I can't wait to try it. And to think I was all set to go rent Final Fantasy XIII. :foodndrink:

Ha! No problem, same thing happened to me about a long time ago and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the hell Sulik and Vic kept ditching out in combat. I've since learned that a good rule of thumb in party-management is to always use the binocular icon on them to make sure they're doing ok.
