Yeah its a spoiler. If you do that quest it changes the zone and removes various quests if you've not finished them. And you can now walk around that area. There is a different choice you can make that I'm not sure will have the same "fixing" effect. Trying to do it now, but its hard to when you have to skip quests that go near the effected cambridge bug.
I can confirm that with my settings, on hunter/hunted if you are around 90% signal strength, it will crash. you can literally draw a circle around where the problem is by keeping your signal strength at 88% and moving around.
If anybody wants to be a baws and do Emogene takes a lover then I'd be super grateful. I would do it but its in a location I haven't visited yet and I've alreayd ruined Greenneighbour (I'm soooooo far behind most of you)

Does anyone know what settings can be set to make the draw distance tiny, so that we can rule out it being that cambridge has a corrupted "area" and being more about some single element that we can perhaps move or delete somehow?
If you could only load things right in front of you perhaps we could essentially walk right up to the cause of the crash and pinpoint it to give bethesda something specifically actionable.
That likely won't work due to multiple people trying to locate the area in a wireframe. However it appears there seems to be entire sections or zones affected and we can't determine where or why they are.
This bug is more mysterious than the institute... maybe... JOEBBB is a synth!
we could try to modify the ugrids to a smaller value to see if that works. I'll give it a shot...

If anyone else wants to see if they get the same log that i do for the crash open your fallout4.ini at D:\Users\*username*\Documents\my games\Fallout4
then find:
We already went through the Papyrus logs a few pages back, there's a bunch of random errors that don't seem to have anything to do with the crash. You'll notice that if you just open up your game and close it, without triggering the crash, you'll see that same error message, unfortunately.
I love that we've gone through so many potential solutions we can tell story about the times we tried those potential solutions
Just have to slam bump this thread until something happens...
We're at 20,000 views now so it should definitely be known, just wish we had acknowledgement
Our next goal is to be at a level where we can tell people about how we told people about the potential solutions we tried.
