Hello, I have been playing game a fair bit and got a few CTD were just reloading game fixed the problem. HOWEVER the CIT Bruiser mission where you gotta track him down ALWAYS CTD within 35-40% distance of him/it. Its really frustrating because I like exploring areas as I go so just skipping every mission in that area is game breaking for me, not going to do it.
Really wish this error/bug showed up in the papyrus thing instead of random crap. I do think there is a broken object or script in that area causing this. If only we have mod tools to crack open that mission in that area.
PS. I completed the Emogene quest successfully, however when approaching the cult the first time I did CTD. Reload game fixed it however.
I just posted my crash to desktop in a specific area (http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1553436-crash-to-desktop-when-raining/), I just want to mention that if I wait in game for the rain to stop, the specific crash won't occur. Yes I'm playing with wetness ticked off.
Sorry bout that, I'll look into it. That's one I asked somebody about and they said that should work but I'll try and look into it later.
Yeah but a lot of these articles are labeling the settlement quest from my original post as the trigger and somewhat implying it's the quest that is effect without mentioning previous quests. The Gamespot video corrected this though.
Yeah, I can see why they've want a weekend of after there big launch, just would've though of the first weekend at least they'd work on the Game-breakings bugs first then take a break. I'm sure they're working on bugs right now but can't reveal they are for a reason.
Man, all those gaming sites post the same stuff about Mosignor plaza and settlement quest. I have never had that quest yet i still crash in this area. These game 'journalists' and bloggers should learn how to get their [censored] facts straight. They don't make it sound like a game breaking problem, which it actually is.
At least they're bringing attention to the bug. Because of Gamepost, most gaing Outlets have reported on it and there's been 300 people on here for an hour now
I've met Nick Valentine and been to Fort Hagen and do not have a problem getting to the plaza. Do you guys think this means I'm in the clear or is there something else I should watch out for? I've heard something about the Silver Shroud quest? I have not done it, should I avoid it?
On ps4 I made those quest with no problem. I notice them when on third quest for railroad trail.
Here is a specific outline of where the crash occurs. I literally made saves and screenshots step by step all around it.

Maybe people will now fully understand the scale of this issue, rather than trying to minimize it as an area that's avoidable or inessential.
Yep that should be it. At first it's started crash nerer the Police Station but right now it's the same area game crash on me.
it is not centered. If you look at my previous post with my area, towards the bottom of the area that is 90% signal strength in hunter/hunted and up towards the top it is 0.
the irony about that is that i couldn't even see what the name of the area was to call it that via crashing
that's why i referred to it as cambridge, i only discovered it during silver shroud which had me go there so i thought it was a silver shroud bug. then when doing hunter/hunted it was consistent so i thought it was a cambridge bug.
Monsignor plaza? I guess if you saw the area at some point you'd know that But the crash extends FAR over the bridge into the downtown area, and way north and west of it. So marginalizing it by calling it one area's crash is just wrong.
I just hit the Northy quest bug where I can't go in the area. Tried lowering resolution, full window, borderless.
Am on latest drivers.
I don't want to use the work around given using console commands - want to finish quests and play the game. Not sure how LARGE of an area I can't go into. Guess I will have to save often when near that area, and just hope for a patch.
We're keeping an eye on it. If you're posting in this thread, we might reach out via PM to get a look at your game saves.
Please feel free to request any info that you would need to troubleshoot this. I am work now but will be glad to assist in getting to the bottom of this and offer any information about my system and game saves that you require.
Would a fix require us to restart our games or is it too early to tell?
Thanks!
Had the same issue for a few days, Yet to find a proper fix. Nice to see this is getting some attention.
Another thought, not sure if this has been brought up and I didn't see anything about it in the OP, but the people that have this bug, are you using Quicksaves? Every Beth Game since Morrowind has had save corruption problems when using them.
Looking at game saves is a big help. I've already PM'd a few of you.
Gonna throw this in, i don't know if it's been flagged i cba to read through all 14 pages but i'm pretty far into the "Minutemen" quest line and i have a few friends who have not experienced this bug and are not that far into the quest line for them, as the issue seems to be revolved around a settlement i'm wondering if its some silly trigger to do with the Minutemen quest line?
On the PC version of the game, save games are stored in My Documents > My Games > Fallout4 > Saves. ("%userprofile%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves")
Here is a link to my savedgame:
if you take a few steps, you will crash
I've not started the Minutemen questline beyond completing Sanctuary and I have the bug.
I have used a mix of both throughout the game. Quicksaving sometimes and normal saving other times.
