Fallout 4 crash in specific area

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:42 am

I Have Nick Valentine with me. I'm doing the Reunions quest and I'm at the door to Fort Hagen command center. I'm playing it on survival mode as well. Every time I click on the door to enter it the loading screen comes up runs for 15 or so seconds the game closes. No error message I can find. I tried from a few saves but once I get to this point it always crashes. Any help would be great.

I created an account just for this topic and I would be happy to send Bethesda my save file that crashes (about 30 hours of gameplay)

The Bethesda guy will delete the link as he said to not post direct links and only PM him, just say you're willing to offer your save and he may PM you.

Some spoilers below, possibly.

Based on what I tried (which was basically all of the above, sans the steps to make the vertibird actually take off), it might be easier to do what I did and use "player.moveto 001a7a50" after "coc sanctuaryExt"; this will move you ONTO the far end of the Prydwen docks, opposite the door and away from gunfire, eliminating the need for TGM and TCL. Aside from that, using setstage passes the quest, as I mentioned earlier, but the Prydwen doesn't crash like it's supposed to, and continues to exist after the quest is done, which is kind of a copout to me.

EDIT; using "setstage RR303 1100" triggered the Prydwen explosion for me this time around. The Vertibird actually left. Success!

Finally it seems something is being done, I hope the fix is relatively easy and even if I have to start over I don't care I just want to be sure that I can continue without fear of this bug. More so because I am on console which means no workaround for me.

I am experiencing the same issue. My game crashes to desktop when flying with the vertibird in "Shadow of steel" just before crossing the broken bridge or when walking to the area holding the airship on foot.

I ran into this as well. Could have sworn I had a bethesda fourm account from years ago, but can't figure it out. Anyway, luckily I save my saves. Last workable is over 8 hours of play ago though, so hope I don't have to go back to that.

At 21.08 playtime I am right about to use the elevator to do the Curtain Call mission. I can access the Plaza.

At 21.21 playtime I am on the top part of the tower, about to fight the boss there. Can't access the Plaza.

All saves before 21.08 Can access the plaza, all saves after 21.21 can not. So I would think there's something in Trinity Tower is mucking up my save there.

I've now got the files on mediafire both as individual saves and both in zip. If anyone wishes to have them, I'll send the link via PM. As Gstaff instructed not to post the link on fourm proper.

Well I've logged 57+ hours playing it and I've built a a lot of neat settlements and I for one would hate to start over, I really hope that they will be able to fix this painlessly.

I heard they take all the tears from our save files and make use it to increase Todd Howards life-force.

I have the same area as everyone else but I also encounter the CTD in Sunshine Tidings Co-Op. I have the settlement, placed some turrets and stuff and all was good. Got the quest to defend it and then crash after crash, walking there, fast travel, anything. What I just found out is that if I load a earlier save ( 4h in ) then i can walk there and fast travel there. But on my main save ( 55h+ ) I instantly crash.

Yeah, I am around that area gameplay time wise as well. It's just that even though it would svck, it would be better than never having a solution.

I've been following this thread for 2-3 days now. decided to throw in my hat if someone wants my save file :P. 36 hours into the game a quest takes me near monsignor plaza and boom CTD. This started happening just after the UFO crash. though having kept up with this i've seen that the ufo probably has very little if anything to do with the problem.

Oh there is always a solution to problems like this, too bad it's not a quick one. I took a staycation to play the damn game since I'm a huge fallout [censored]. I just won't be able to play from scratch later and enjoy it the same way. It would feel like a chore marching through all the locations, quests and etc. all over again in such a short period of time.

I'm also having this issue. I'm now up to 3 or 4 quests that I can't do. :nope: Played around 40 hours. Haven't been in the area around Monsignor Plaza at all. The first time I was going there was on the Shadows of steel quest and it crashed at the exact same place as people in this thread/other forums describes.

Any word on official fix? I really don't feel like using the workarounds and missing out on stuff...

That crash is a real headscrather. I was able to do the vertibird quest and saw ufo cash before it started happening to me
