Sleeping for 31 days did not reset the cell and it still crashes.

10 quid we get a fix or announcement tomorrow.
They have our saves, and a debugger, so they likely know what the problem is.

The sad thing is this kind of problem is caused by a segmentation fault, fatal and immediate killing of process being a classic example.

It is usually caused by attempting to write to unallocated memory, which in script terms means a dependency for a procedure is missing. As opposed to something being there we may in fact be missing something in our saves ...

We know the game is set out in acts, meaning things change and possibly disappear after the first act. My theory is the game is mistakenly expecting an entity from one of the side quests to be present when in fact is has been superceeded by the second act.

When the fix is implemented, my strategy is to start a new game, and IGNORE ALL primary quests, and save them until last. This at least should provide the least possible amount of collisions in future..

Then again here's hoping I'm full of [censored] and when it's fixed out save miraculously work again.

Uhm...So I enabled Debugging, and when traveling to that area it throws errors for the radio racks in Travis' RV...is it possible HIS quest is causing it?

Hey!

First time poster here, though i have been able to achieve pretty much half of the game thanks to your workarounds.. I only post now because i dont see anyone having the problem with the Quest: "Operation Ticonderoga" from the Railroad Storyline! (and also the "consierge" Sidequest which tells you to clean the area around Monsignor Plaza (great joke))! I would appreciate if someone could post the console commands to port to "Ticonderoga Safehouse" (just south of Monsignor Plaza i think) since i have no idea how to do that. That should probably fix the quest. Thank you very much.

Hi, glad to hear the workaronds have helped you be able to play! I'm not that far in Railroad yet so I can't really help that much but I can post some intructions and give help if you need it.

These intructions were copy and pasted so sorry if they're a bit messy;

Save before

I'd love to help but I'm not that far yet bud, you can use coc nameExt to get somewhere example: coc sancturaryExt Sometimes it's hard to find the code though

to get a location to teleport to in a quest use player.sqt This'll show you all your active quests, it can be a pain to go through them unfortunately

On the console screen, it'll have a reference and a load door key. you can use player.moveto thecode example: player.moveto 000F492Fe thats a made up code

if the objective is outside then you might need to complete the objective instead, you can use player.sqs questId (the quest id is in player.sqt, current quest: IDHERE)

That'll show all the steps of the quest you have to do, you can then use player.setstage QUESTID STAGEID to complete that stage, might take a few tries to complete the correct stage

Hopefully that makes sense and can help you, if you do find a workaround we'd love to hear it!

Wait a minute... "None" object? They are using the "options pattern" those lazy blighters. How hard is it to check that something exists before you try to do stuff with it.

We've had some people do logging before (one including birds around 5-6 pages back which looked like the same log), the papyrus logs seems to give a lot of errors and I haven't done the Travis quest yet. Still could be helpful though, appreciate the logs, i'll put them in 2nd post.

COC'ing to CambridgeCrater02 is a crash. Kinda just sifting through the areas to see what would be the exact Cell(s).

CambridgeCraterExt

CambridgeCraterExt02

CambridgeMonsignorPlaza

CambridgeConstructionSiteExt is right on the outskirts of the crash.

CambridgeCraterExt is the fastest crash. It is 100% instantaneous.

It's something specifically in those 3 things.

workaround just like all the others

Quest: Operation Ticonderoga

1.Open Console

2.Type in: "player.moveto 0010FA76" to get into the Safehouse

Havent completed the quest but will most likely do tomorrow and this should have fixed it

I had the same problems beginning at fast travel to the cit than i tried to get over the bridge and than i gave up and just did some random quests. Than i started to get lorenzos artifact and this lead me to bunker hill. I crashed always on the same places.

Than I just thought screw and i move from the cabot house straight forward to the river on the righthand side the the normal bridge and on the left side the destroyed bridge and right infront inside the river a huge pillar from the railway.

I jumped into the water and swam through the river. And somehow it didnt crash. I move to Bunker Hill did some quests a lot quests but i avoided this place.

While i was farming some synth and Junk i passed Strong again.

Well after i read all new posts i saw this theory about Strong so i just tried if I can get now to the CIT.

And Im at 3 days gameplay btw. there was now way to start over =)

And hell yeah it worked...

I hope this will help at least some of u maybe i just did other quests which disabled the bug.

But it shows that the savegame isnt corrupted and its possible to fix. Maybe some colliding missions

Thats amazing dude, really appreicate you getting back to us, glad it working out well. I've update OP, if you could tell me what the objective was you were told to do before the crash then that could help the description. Thanks again!

They're looking at ours saves, not sure if a fix will come with a overall patch or by itself like the xaudio one.

Thanks dude for this! I'll defiently look into it in a bit as I'm sure others will and you must've been through a lot of pages to see the Strong companion theory. I heard theres a small tribe living within this thread 2spooky4me

The objective for the Quest was : get into Ticonderoga Safehouse. Looks like you are immediately greeted by a courser and after some talking i had to move for a sec to get the new objective: "kill all courser" which you have to do manually ^^ .. btw i have decided to do this quest before going to bed so i can give you the full workaround.

aaand we got a problem. after going down a few stories it tells me to go outside the building into cambridge. and there is obviously the crash .. will try to do it with setstage.

Well I saw the UFO crash when i was very far east, and it WOULD have crashed around cambridge going by the visual on seeing it. but if you look up the UFO there is another crash site elsewhere... that's the only one i could find.

so yes, it could have something to do with the UFO and minutemen, and any of the other quests that have been mentioned.

it seems as simple as something was supposed to change but then didn't and the game throws an error OR something changed that wasn't supposed to etc.

Hello ive ben having this problem so i use your vertbird work around and that was great thats and another workaround dont remeber name but im doing the brotherhood quest line and iv reach the quest Ad Victoriam where i have to follow a giant robot through the glitch crashing part of the map and i was wondering if you could make a workaround for this cause i notice you dont have one and i would appreciated if you could do that . thanks!

Glad our Workarounds have helped you! I'm no were neaaar that quest yet but I'll update first post to try and get someone to find a workaround. YOu can try to do this with the intructions above but the quest seems more complicated, I'm guessig you'd need to use setstage to skip the robot-following parts then use player.moveto to the desination after following the robot. Might take a while for somebody to respond though so I'd reccomend continueing with side-quests for the time being Thanks again!

If Monsignor Plaza is your crash area and NOT CIT then just fast travel to CIT to begin the next phase. If your crash area is CIT then you will have to setstage to advance the quest and moveto to make it inside the Institute.

i dont really get how to get the stageID .. i could now try to just setstage all of the listed IDs but it just says "invalid Info "ID" for parameter quest

i guess i need to set the stageID aswell but i dont know how to get that

and yea the objective then is located directly after the exit to cambridge .. so its still in the area .. halve of the objective is inside the safehouse the other halve is located outside

Ah damn it still crashes at greentech genetics and monsignor plaza

so many bugs and this gamebreaking one

But sth. has changed i couldnt get over that bridge before and now it works same with CIT
