will spawn you in Sanctuary, you shoudn't need to use setstage.

If you ever do though, you can use sqs questID eg (sqs MS0052) to get a list of objectives and then use setstage QUESTID STAGEID (the number next to DONE or NOT SET). eg (setstage MS0052 120) It usually takes a while to get the right objective so saving is advisable there

and yea the objective then is located directly after the exit to cambridge .. so its still in the area .. halve of the objective is inside the safehouse the other halve is located outside

so i do have to setstage probably :/

Yeah, if it's outside then you're gunna have to use setstage unfortunately. If you need any help then be sure to ask otherwise I'd reccomend skipping this for now

Some people are reporting Sanctuary crashes as well...ssoo...

I've had this bug more or less since launch. Went to Monsignor about 9 hours in and it happened. Posted about it on the FO4 subreddit, but now I see this is where the action is. For me it occurred during a Minutemen Settler quest to save his kidnapped son. Hadn't even gone to Diamond City yet. Can send my save file via PM if needed.

Made an account just to post this and follow the news regarding it. I am playing on PS4, doing The Silver Shroud, and I came accross this bug. Weird thing is that I passed through this area earlier in the game and so had the quick travel to Monsignor. Trying to use it immediately closed my game and kicked me to the report screen, and trying to use a surrounding travel point and walk to the spot to Kill Smiling Kate did the same thing when I was about 80-50 meters from her coming form her west. right now, that's the only quest I have there, but it appears that there are more quests coming up there. If this is a universal problem for this many people, I'm hoping a patch will clear this up, because I don't have any way to cheat myself there. I'll answer any questions or try any suggestions for PS4 if anyone has Ideas.

DID IT! .. though it feels like cheating since i used setstage :/

soo there are 2 ways you can do this ..

First: The way of some killing/content/ammunition(and a goodie):

1.open console

2. type in:"player.moveto 0010FA76" to get into the Safehouse and get the Objective "kill all courser"

3. Unfortunately after that you have to go outside so from this point out you have to use setstage to progress

4.type in:"player.setstage RR301 300" -> this will finish "kill all courser" objective and tell you to talk to Desdemona

Second: The fast way without the fun:

1. open console

2.type in: "player.setstage RR301 0" or "player.setstage RR301 50" (i think its 50 but i havent comfirmed this since im already past this point and screwed up with my saves :/)

3.type in: "player.setstage RR301 300" -> this will again finish the "kill all courser" objective and tell you to talk to Desdemona

i hope i did atleast some things right with formating .. maybe you could clean up this mess and make it presentable^^

I have posted some intructions you can try above to get around the quest that may help, I'm also free to help if you need it. Most of us have sent our save files to gstaff.

You should be able to agro the people around that area then kill them (don't kill them from afar as you can't use console commands to skip the step). I don't have all that many suggestions about PS4 sorry to say but I have heard a bunch of reports about the error on PS4. I guess the best you can currently do it wait for a patch.

Aweesome! I know what you mean about setstage but I don't know of any other way. Hopefully you'll be able to experience the quest properly when its been patched.

I'll link to your post directly as you've already put in nice intructions. All I'd recommend is adding a step before console saying was the previous objective was. Apart from that, they're perfect. cheers!

looking at my quests in the good game, i have to do:

silver shroud

tradecraft

unlikely valentine

story of the century

call to arms

and under misc:

explore combat zone

see abbot at wall

so with those quests incoming, and i checked that the UFO is crashed and present for me (not sure if it is always there and the crashing is random or if it only shows up once you see the animation of the crash)

also i saved strong but he's just hanging out at the bottom of the tower and haven't had him actually follow

that is a lot of articles though, no wonder Bethesda decided to start paying us some attention today. hopefully they get back to us tomorrow with some idea of what is causing this or maybe even a patch. but I doubt they'd be able to patch it in a day...

Yeah, having this same area CTD bug. That part of Cambridge with the Monsignor Plaza. Really bums me out. Over 24 hours logged ingame. Hope a patch can fix it. I think I'll play around in anything that isn't related in the meanwhile, but there can't be any real game progression if I can't get at the middle of Boston, eh?

So I just deleted all files and did a clean re-install. Started up a new game and have had two CTDs already. One in the house before you even leave for the vault and another just as the vault door is opening after you thaw out. I'm getting a tad frustrated here. It's just not letting me play at all at this point.

I'm on Xbox1, and I have this issue. With mine, I managed to do silver shroud perfectly, with no issue. Then when I returned with Boston after dark, it started crashing. It also crashes near amphitheatre for Slovene, and on vertibird flight like others

Sorry to hear dude, I don't have workarounds for them but I guess you could try using setstage and teleporting via console? May work. intructions are above. If you can't get that to work then hopefully a patch will do it for ya, at least on ours we can avoid the area

Yeah, it svcks that the bug occurs on console as at least on PC we can work around it with console commands. Hopefully it'll be patched soon tho, Bethesda knows about the crash now.

I've had this crash while trying to kill Northy, for that Goodneighbor quest, and also when I got back from the Glowing Sea when I had to track down a Institute Courser.
