Fallout 4 Crashes after a few minutes of Gameplay

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 2:59 pm

I'm having an issue with running this game. The frame rates are all fine. I can run the game on ultra with no loss in performance.

However, the game seems to want to crash every ten minutes with no real known reason to why.

Windows 10

AMD fx8120

HD7950

16gigs of ram.

I am going to see if updating to AMD's beta driver will fix the issue

EDIT:

At the time of posting, I wasn't aware of the patch that could be installed through the beta selection in Fallout's properties. It's kinda odd that it's considered a beta, and not a full patch, but what can you do? I'm trying that now. I'll keep this updated.

Have you solved it?

I have exactly the same problem. Updating to the latest Nvidia driver and applying the game's beta patch in Steam didn't work.

I still crash after approx 10 minutes, haven't yet managed to get past character creation.

Windows 10

i7 930

8GB RAM

Nvidia 670 4GB

Beta Patch fixed it after an upgrade to AMD's Beta Driver. Game runs like a dream.

On a side note, some of my friends got the game running with odd solutions. I don't know their rigs, but if beta patch doesn't work... try this:
If you have two monitors, disable one of them. I have two, but I haven't tried running the game with both active.

Try running the game in windowed mode.
Try dialing down TAA or what ever it is called to FXAA.

I'm thinking it might be because I'm insisting on running the game at 2560x1440. I'll try a lower resolution and see how it goes then.
