hi there!

first sorry for my bad english, i'm german..

when i start a new game in fallout 3 the game crashes back to the desktop.

i tried a lot of things to get it work: i installed the patch 1.7, reinstalled windows live games and installed new drivers for every hardware, but it still won't work.

so after i've red a lot of topics in this forum i think the reason may be my graphic card. i got a notebook with windows 7 64bit and a nvidia geforce gt 420m. here's the dxdiag:

It says you have an integrated chipset, but if its one of those laptops with dual video solutions you may want to get the latest drivers for that.

i got the latest nvidia and intel-drivers.

but i dont really understand this "dual video solution". is it normal that im only able to chose the intel hd graphics and not my nvidia-card in the fallout-settings?


well i think i understand it now.. it seems like the games i play are automatically using the intel hd graphics instead of the much better geforce. dont ask me why...

i changed the preferred graphic adapter in the nvidia-settings to the geforce and other games (for example crysis) are running much faster!

but the problem is that in the fallout-settings i am not able to change the graphics adapter from intel to the geforce.

someone got an idea?
