Fallout 4 Crashing After ~1min

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:10 am

I have been playing Fallout 4 since launch without too many issues, but the last few days the game has been crashing on me ~1min after loading a save file. I'm not sure what's causing this to happen as it had been fine and is still only crashing intermittently (if it makes it past a minute the game will run as long as I want to play for). Sometimes it crashes to the desktop, sometimes the computer reboots itself.

I had been running a beta through steam that I found on launch day that was supposed to deal with Windows 10 audio issues. On launch day my computer wasn't letting me get past character creation until that beta had been loaded, if that helps anything.

I'm currently running:

- Windows 10 on an Alienware X51

- Steam

- Intel i5-3330 @ 3.00 GHz

- 8.0 GB Ram

- Nvidia GeForce GTX 660

Please let me know if you have any advice, I'm itching to get back to the Wasteland now that we're expected to get snowed in this weekend :)

Unfortunately i don't know what causes that problem after those days, as you game played fine until then.

Can you try a clean boot, and try to fire the game again?

To start msconfig just type at *search windows: msconfig

* it's the icon with the magnifier on your task bar at the left side.

Further complication - it seems to run just fine while windowed. Thoughts? Full DxDiag available to anyone who is interested.

The short version of it is that I'm getting this error: Fault bucket LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys, type 0
