(PC) Fallout 4 creating a bunch of saves?

So I've noticed that whenever I go to save the game, I have a ton of save files. But I've only ever over-written the very first one so I only have one save. Yet for some reason the game is keeping the old ones. I'm worried because when steam uploads the save files to the cloud, I've already used 80mb of 700mb or something like that. So if the game keeps storing them to the cloud, I'll eventually run out.

So is there a reason why the game keeps saving my saves even though I always over-write the most recent one? I just want one save that I can keep on re-writing over and over. Thanks for your help. :)

Probably bunch of autosaves? If so, then there is a limit after which the game starts to overwrite them.

Besides, how about deleting them? On load screen, select a save and press the delete button (I think it is X, it's written at the bottom of the screen).

EDIT: You have 1 GB on Steam for Fallout's saves... Also, you can disable the Steam cloud saving. But I think that using just two saves and keeping overwriting them isn't the safest thing to do. Either you can get stuck and have no save point to return to or the save even can get corrupted - and with mods in 2016 it will get worse, if Skyrim is any example.

Yeah, each type of autosave is a different file, except the game doesn't tell you what scenario caused which autosave, nor separate them from manual saves, so when you overwrite an autosave the next time the game autosaves it creates another new file. Kind of annoying.
