Fallout 4 Decorated - Covenant

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 5:07 am

Covenant is one of the nicest looking settlements in the game, but also one of the hardest to expand, because there is so little space. Still, I put all of my human companions there and moved right in, Rick Grimes style. We then made it our mission to defend the settlement, and renovate the place. We've been attacked many times, once by a vertibird, because I left the defense rating at 0 and just use the existing turrets.

It's a quiet little town, so no workbenches or trading stalls here. Remember, low charisma fun.

And here is Red Rocket, which I posted before. it's still my home base because it has all the workbenches.

p.s.- dont forget to expand the images

Very nice.

P.S how on earth did you stock the shelves so neatly and did they stay that neat for long in game? I can barely place anything on any of the shelves (and certainly not in any sort of arrangement like you have), and if I do some how manage to something on them, after fast traveling I return to find it has clipped through the shelf. :sadvaultboy:

I guess you don't suffer from shaky hands B)

Some great details, and you must obviously have fun doing it, altho, personally I wouldn't have the temper for that kind of thing :D I can rage just trying to get a freaking wall straight! :brokencomputer:

Kingsport lighthouse is my favorite location so far. I built a huge house on top of the little boat house (totally obscuring it) and even though my house is essentially floating over the boat house, it's a great location because it overlooks the ocean.

That's really cool. Why can't the shelves look that plentiful in game. Looks much more interesting then an empty one.

This seems to be a common problem for some. All I can say is that I keep vsync (presentinterval) on, and my fps usually stays under 60. Maybe the physics get weird when it goes too high. I use the grab key to hold the object in mid air, and then rub it on other surfaces until I get them all facing the same way.

Covenant is bugged for me (Xbox One) :(

I didn't activate the quest through normal means I think (I pickpocketed things) so a lot of items are still in red for me (steal if I grab them); and when I put up my own defenses it attacks the outside turrets. Haven't looked at it since the population went 0 (failed kidnapping quest).

Lighthouse is my current fav although my main base right now is at Egret.

Just reading that makes me feel uneasy! I would have no patience for that. Too bad you can't stock a shelf by using as a container.

I love nice look, especially the convenant wall, it is better than a square concrete and non-destruct-able wood plank.

So is everyone there? I may have sorta kinda made it a ghost town early on. I wrote up a post in another thread detailing why, felt justified to some extent, then things got out of hand. So I wonder what it'd be like there with no one else.

Oh wow, I would never have the patience to do what you've done and put those items into each shelf. Colour me impressed!

Potential Spoiler:

That and I've sided elsewhere in my covenant, so I have smoke plums still surrounding the entire freaking settlement.

Very nice job with Covenant!

Mine has dead bodies all over it, so the appeal of the place is a bit lost in my game. If Bethesda ever allows us a corpse cleanup on console, it will be one of the first things I use.

Wish I could decorate my homes like in your pictures, but nearly everything I place sinks into all the surfaces and floors and then vanishes, even if I place them in grab mode. (I think it's probably my biggest complaint about the game!) Hope everything stays intact for you!

If you loot the bodies you can drag them outside the settlement up dump them.. I have done this many times.

But do they stay where they're dumped? I've tried moving that body on the Sanctuary bridge numerous times and it always goes right back where it was before I moved it.

Oh, yes, I have noticed that too...but only with a few bodies. Most have stayed gone for me, but once in a while one will keep coming back.

I was super fortunate in that the I killed everyone outside the settlement. What drives me insane is the number of destroyed Heavy Turrets all over the settlement, those I cannot move at all. Would like to use those spots for my own turrets.

Oh yes please.

I hope someone from gamesas, or some ambitious modder really takes this idea to heart and makes it happen.

If you're on the PC and use console, check out markfordelete command. Between that and setownership Covenant is a nice little home for me and Cait with a couple of servant/guards.

heh wasn't, I swear I do...on the console side you don't have to deal with a game that doesn't know what the heck an azerty keyboard is ;)

Seriously, if I remember right the modder just did a batch file that fixed them so if that's the case you can do it threw the console command IG at least...consoles do have that possibility, right? Sorry been playing my games on PCs.
