Fallout 4 Demo at Quakecon

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 10:58 pm

I hope this is helpful to some, and not repeated info;

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2015/07/09/bethesda-bringing-exclusive-fallout-4-demo-to-quakecon.aspx

I can't go to Quakecon, but hopefully some of you can. At the very least, a great deal more info is bound to come out of this.

I've never understood why they have these attendee exclusives viewings........at best we will get second hand news, maybe some poor quality leaked footage.

I look forward to any more info, but I view them as missed opportunities.

Because in this day and age info spreads to fast to much for some devs liking, so this kind of thing is a good bottleneck in there eyes.

If they would at least make a QuakeCon in Europe too, then I'd understand that decision.

As it is now, I don't see why they don't make it a timed exclusive, so fans in other parts of the world can have some nice footage, without having to cross the Atlantic.

Or: Make a "QuakeCon-Theater", basically a paid stream which is packaged with a small box that comes via mail and contains some fan-goodies to enjoy at home.

I'm fine with second-hand info at this point. Hell, I'm happy with anything at this point. The hype is too real.

The info still gets out, but now its second hand and will lead to internet rages as incorrect info is spread around.

Oh yeah, this will result in the inevitable video chase as some bad quality cellphone recorded footage is leaked and posted and folks scramble to view it before it's taken down only to pop up somewhere else over and over.

Bethesda released their "behind closed doors" footage of Skyrim on their youtube channel later. Don't worry, they'll probably do the same this time.

Here's part 1 for Skyrim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xwboyafbwc

I hope the Media people covering what is shown are actually gamers this time. I remember for Skyrim people reporting what they saw and heard clearly had little past experience gaming or reporting on games.

Good point but this game is on a small time frame so hopefully it gets released sooner.

Should be streamed because it's probably going to get leaked anyway but if that's what Beth wants to do then so be it.

This could be a sign of a more 'open' demo to follow shortly after. And either way, I'm sure there will be a load of new info confirmed from this.

We will have something new to talk about, at least. Of course, this means we are unlikely to get any more snipets of information between now and then so we'll have to be content recycling the same old conversations for the next couple weeks.

Are you nervous at all? I've been excited to get the info about your theories. They released this game quickly as far as time in the public which made it seem like a media and advertisemant blitz was coming. They still have some time but it will all be coming soon. It has to

As QuakeCon is hosted by Zenimax, it is reasonable to assume that the exclusive demo is used as an attraction to bolster attendance to the show itself.

I will be content as long as we can have some new info regarding new features.
