Fallout 3 Disk and Securom security problem

Post » Thu Sep 16, 2010 4:51 pm

I try to launch FALLOUT 3 and get a message from Securom that either it is the wrong disk, or securom timed out trying to read the disk. However, occasionally FALLOUT 3 will launch.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Doe anyone have advice? I have sent an anolysis file to Securom, but they have not done anything useful so far.

My typical experience is that I try to launch five times (all unsuccessful), then I turn off the PC. Then I turn on the PC and it will usually work the first time I launch FALLOUT 3 (but not always). After playing for a while, I can end the game session. But then if I try to launch again, it almost always fails no matter how many times I try.

When the launch works, the game seems to work fine.

You could try http://fose.silverlock.org/ to run the game without the disk. (Legally)

Don't even need FOSE, just edit the shortcut to point to fallout3.exe instead of falloutlauncher.exe

You cannot see this, but I am on my knees in humble thanks for your "FOSE" suggestion. It works!!!! Thanks....Thanks...Thanks

But now the sceptic in me must ask: Are there any adverse effects??? I guess I will find out.

It doesnt do anything really, its mainly there for the use of mods, but also it allows the disk check to be skipped. (Also Rhomphaia's suggestions works fine too)

Hi. I have the same kind of problem on my computer.
Securom detected a conflict between an emulation software (I shut down Daemon Tool Lite) and the Fallout 3 dvd.
- I patched the game with 1.7
- I updated my drivers
- I tried FOSE
... but the message is still there.

Could someone help me with this please?

Computer:
Core 2 quad Q6600
Ram 4 Gb
video : ATI HD 4800
Windows 7 x64 (Integral edition)
