Fallout Dissapointment

Hello,
As you have probably figured out fallout 3 like most of you guys is prbably one of my most played and favourite games. I played over 100 hours on the xbox and i was looking to expand my expeirience by playing this game on my computer. S i go to my local game shop and pick up a copy for around £10 and rush home to install and play it. My excitement was abruptly ended because of a freeze early into the game (around 4 minutes). So i think, 'oh it must just be a one of fault' but no. I try over 30 times further without a clue as to what is wrong until finally i give up and put it away. Then a couple of weeks ago i see it on sale on steam so i buy it with some money i had lying around thinking that it may work better than the version i have on the disc (both are GOTY editions btw). After 50 mins of downloading i start it up. I get to the fallout G.O.A.T. when it freezes and i think to myself, it's ok its only once. So then i get a bit further and it is just as i have opened the vault door for the first time it freezes and i have to Alt+Tab+Esc and use task manager to disable the program. So i do the logical thing and trawl through endless amounts of forums looking for a fix but my search turns up negative as everything i try does not work. So i email bethseda asking for some help. A few days later i receive an email containing a guide on how to attach my computers specs to an email that i then send them. Again a few days later i receive a second email detailing the fix that involes editing the fallout.ini file. So i think what the hell and try it. Again it does not work. They also asked if i had updated my graphics card drives which i do but it still does not work. So at this point i have lost the will to live and this is the reason i started the forum. So i ask you fallout public to please help me because bethseda have really let me down.

Is you computer able to handle Fallout 3? Cause that is a legitimate question. Does the game run really slow before it crashes?

sounds like ya need to do the duel core change in the ini files. If ur running with a quad core or a six core, u get ctds quite often because the game is using a single core for everything. Dangit if I wasnt at work I would post the directions.

Actually, go to fonv mods section and on the sixth page I posted the ini change and how to. Disregard the bit about 4gnvse bit, only do the ini change. Sorry I would post link but on phone, but lookup arwens realism or overhaul and I posted it on the 5th or 6 th page.

Lost the will to LIVE ?!?! Quick , somebody get him some Jet.

But seriously , if you want some help , your going to have to help us . Come post here http://www.gamesas.com/forum/36-fallout-3-pc-issues/ and start a new thread.

Tell us the issue with as much detail. Then list all the fixes youve tried in order (if possible) with what you did (details and exactness help us insure youve done them correctly)

Then add in your system specs with a dxdiag , like you emailed Bethesda.
