Fallout 4 DLC ideas again

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:46 pm

I know a post like this was already made but I thought it might be a good idea to come up with more ideas since Bethesda did announce that they want to make to dlc based off player feed back and what they think we want. anyway here are my ideas

My first Idea going out west back to the NCR my main reason for wanting this is because the game references back to the NCR in a few bits and well to those guys who say it's not possible because the Legion, well even if the Legion won the second battle of hoover damn, in the end the NCR would win the war with heavy casualties but the in end they would win regardless of the circumstances of the Currier 6's decisions in New Vegas. Reasons for this being well one Legion soldiers are trained to discard advanced weaponry the moment the battle ends, NCR soldiers are trained to think for themselves and they have Vertibirds now (basically air control with heavy weapons attached) sure the legion has an anti-air artilery canon but they only have one of those. Also Vertibird travels turns week long journeys into a few hours. so it is reasonable to assume that travel by Vertibird could turn the multiple month long journey it would take to get to the western wasteland into a few weeks and the brotherhood has Vertibird so I can imagine the excuse being Maxson or someone in the brotherhood trying to contact the west coast brotherhood. Also for those who don't know Fallout 4 takes place 10 years after fallout 3 and that means 5 to 6 years after new vegas so I'm pretty sure the NCR's war with the Legion would be over by the time Fallout 4 takes place even if the Legion won the second battle of Hoover dam. War's usually only last about 6 to 10 years in RL and then a new one begins. Also I want to see Bethesda do this because it's unlikely Obsidian will make another West coast fallout game with Chris Avellone leaving the company.

Another Idea I had is to have a form of the Enclave return as like an optional join-able faction in another area because honestly in the Lore it is stated that the Enclave has bunkers and vaults made for Enclave Personal all across America and we're going to believe we finished them off at raven rock. I personally don't believe that because statistically not all of the Enclave could have made it to the capital wasteland in time and as I mentioned they have bunkers made for them all across the American wasteland for all we know there could be a bunker with cryogenically frozen members of the Enclave before the great war and like maybe the computer messed up because of a bomb going off near it and never revived the Enclave members who are in cryo-sleep, and maybe you accidentally or intentionally revive them not knowing who the Enclave Are. Also Your character is a registered American Citizen and a veteran soldier from before the war so that could be reason enough for them letting you join. I could see this happening as like a main Story Expansion back or like something that could happen in like a trip to the New York wasteland.

Lastly I think that with each expansion pack they should add stuff to the settlement creation like maybe as a way to expand your settlement but not increase the lag they could make buildings and areas that allow you to go inside via loading screen and they allow you to make more stuff in there like the house in Diamond city or maybe allow in to start building underground, it would probably use alot of Junk Resources to do this but I think it would be an inventive Idea to get around the lag the comes with removing the building caps/limits in settlements

Where did the NCR get the Vertibirds? They only had 1 shown in NV and that was for the president and could be blown up and there was only 1 other in the area which they didn't know of. So they don't have air support.

NCR soldiers also aren't well trained or equipped which is why they stuggle to beat back the Legion who like to use swords and spears.

If the NCR lost the battle either to NV or Legion they wouldn't have the men or money to maintain the war, they'd thrown their resources there and they need the dam for the power. The first battle for the dam was 4 years before the second and even then it was in the Legions favour and they lost the first battle.

Spoiler
Maxson already has contact with the Western BoS and was appointed leader of the East coast in 2283, it's mentioned in some of the terminals on the airship, he doesn't need to fly back to an area they've been defeated in

Second not much point for them to go all that way, especially with all that space they just ignore, then add in it took them 10 years to get the power and equipment really to just go the few hundred miles north rather than 2,000 miles.

You then have the issue that NV was it's own game, not a DLC. It would be huge like the size of FO4 already to try and cover it.

I would like the Enclave to re-appear but not in a big show of power, should be left for a future DLC maybe coming from Chicago, they've been wiped out, lost 2 key bases and command chain so let them fallback and regroup. (plus not to have the same game every single time) I'd like to see them have some internal lore we don't really see that much so far, maybe see more on how they have got those numbers and their internal infrastructure like where do they get their food? Can we use it in our settlements? Why is there so many X-01s in the Commonwealth just abbandoned?

Personal tastes vary and I acknowledge that mine may not be yours and yours may not be mine, but...

I would perfer any DLC either expand the current map or be an area within the commonwealth that would take a few days fast travel to get to; Martha's Vinyard, or Nantucket are two good options rich in History to exploit.

What I don't want to see is a rehash back West and certainly not a one off area where you complete quests and never return to. I want to want to keep going back and forth between the two.

Also what I don't want to see is any sort of pre-war memory den style DLC, could the memory den be utilized in a DLC quest- absolutely, but please no operation anchorage style call of duty stealth shooter that adds nothing to the current fallout world our characters are in.

I'd rather see a new faction emerge rather than an old one return. Introduce a totalitarian empire scouting down south from 'Ronto and enable the player to either side with to help establish a foothold in the commonwealth, or take them on to push them back. Design them conceptually like NCR, numerically superior, organized, but low tech. If the player sides with them all other factions in the commonwealth turn hostile to the player, all settlements currently owned turn to the control of the remaining factions in the players game and the player must scraqe through to conquer them. If the player takes on the empire than attacks against the players settlements become more common and determined.

Allow for more options with the pacify perk. Bring back the slave collars and let us enslave enemies we pacify, sending them to a settlement of choice to do labor. Have those slaves set as an individual faction as well so they work for you, but if you execute one the whole of the settlement defenses don't turn against you. Alternatively have you tell them to travel to one of your settlements to live in peace (without the collar of course and you must pass a charisma check).

Either allow settlers to be renamed like weapons and armor or assign them a random name when they join your settlement.

More settlement interaction and interaction with settlers. Personally I think Bethesda wasted a lot of potential on having Cogsworth speak your name. They should have had the protagonist voice actor and actress record it. It could have been used in the holotape from your spouse and then all the random settler names could have come from the same spoken name list and your character would have said them.

"I can't do that right now Jack" in a radiant quest to retrieve a lost heirloom.

"I've known James and Karen for a long time", in a quest to hold a funeral when ever a settler dies.

"Bill I need you to take your men to defend a settlement" When dispatching a patrol to a defend the settlement quest location.

Which brings me to more radiant settlement quests. Some that may only take a minute or two, but make sense in a community.

The ability to form patrols by assigning settlers to a patrol leader. These patrols can be sent to attack another settlement and try to take it over, raid a settlement for supplies, respond to a defend the settlement quest, or patrol between two settlements to keep the roads clear of raiders, gunners, gouls, and hostile factions. The patrol could be given a combat value based on their numbers and equipment if their combat value is higher than the defensive value of the settlement they attack they win, if not they are wiped out. Likewise on a defend the settlement mission their combat value is added to the settlements defense and if higher than the attacker they fend off the attack, if lower they are wiped out and the settlement is sacked or taken over.

I believe the NCR would probably have acquired quite a few Vertibirds from the first defeat of the Enclave with the help of the Chosen one, Also the NCR is the reason why the Brotherhood almost no longer exists in the west and they obviously scavenged their Technology so why wouldn't they Scavenged Enclave tech. The fact that the president had a vertibird just shows they use them for more domesticated means. Also they were only struggling in the Mojave the majority of their army was still back in California. Also I never wanted to return to new vegas I was thinking maybe we could see part of San Francisco or the Hub since it got referenced in the memories from Kellog in the Memory Den. Or maybe we could visit a modern version of The Boneyard(Los Angeles in Fallout 1)

Anyway on the Enclave thing I agree they shouldn't come back in force they should be like a remnant group keeping their distance from the Brotherhood, I think they should be like a minutemen faction like you have the option to help them rebuild their status. (First mod I'll probably get when mods come to console will probably get will be one of the X0-1 power armor Enclave re-textures)

Also I would like to see what would happen if Bethesda did try to invest some time and expand old Lore from Black Isle. I think adding new factions might inflate the Lore a little to much it would work cause Fallout is a massive sandbox game but at the same time it might turn off more players.

I have a Dream DLC.

It's probably too much to hope for, but who knows?

It starts out with a return to the USS Constitution.

Cpt. Ironsides has progressed in his dementia to Full Bore Ahab Syndrome.

He believes that he has identified the most terrible Naval threat the world has ever seen:

Nuka dike, The Great Glowing Whale!

You must aid Cpt. Ironsides in his mission to destroy Nuka dike.

Travel to the great Whaling Cities of The Commonwealth's distant past!

Gloucester! Nantucket! And finally, a raid on the Whaling Museum in New Bedford, all the way across the Glowing Sea!

Once the Constitution is properly outfitted, blast off for Buzzards Bay and set sail for the High Seas in search of adventure and an epic showdown with The Great Glowing Whale!

I think search for "Nuka dike, the glowing whale dork" sounds too zany for Fallout.

But what do I know people were crazy about "Old World Blues..."

Barking dog gun ><

Pls no more.

I think we need something like 2 more Skyrim Dragonborn sized DLC for Fallout 4 with as much story pls.

Want options to use Nukes against New Vegas area and have it be Cannon.

Vault-Tec Headquarters DLC:

I think this would be amazing for not just lore, but imagine being able to see complete lists of all the vaults across the country. Every vault is pretty much a science/social experiment, why not get a view from the guys who actually ran things. It wouldn't be just a single building, but an entire campus with its own underground tunnels and separate districts. You could have it being raided by a company size BoS element, but due to the automatic defenses, they lost all communications with the commonwealth. Inside it would have everything from heavy turrets defending everything, to a Vault-Tec faction and even have those underground tunnels filled with ghouls.

Enclave loot was split with the BoS, BoS tend to destroy their bunkers if they are about to lose them so not much loot, Enclave also Left the West cost to the East coast before they were destroyed there, so they'd have taken most of the Vertibirds. I'd say the president having one shows the value of them, they are the cutting edge and best transport left in the wasteland. There's not enough for the NCR to have airpower or else they'd have used them against the Legion if they had enough.

Needs to be a reason we'd go there still. So far there isn't. Especially if it means skipping over all the land along the way. Current DLC has kept us rather close to the base game.

Vault-tec HQ is in DC. They did have a secret vault in F:BoS I think but not sure if it's classed as cannon. I'd also be shocked if most of the vault-tec head honchos weren't part of the Enclave...

I think the NCR would be interesting, but what motivation do they have to go to The Commonwealth? What might work is that they've become very ambitious and want to control the whole country. They re-brand themselves and become controlled by one of your former characters from one of the old games. DragonAge did a good job with having former player's characters meeting the new one. Why not do something like that with Fallout?

What might be a cool idea for the Enclave is to have the player choose their fate: merge with your chosen faction (gain tech perks and new items), eliminate them entirely (get current items), or join them and direct them similar to The Minutemen (do both).

I also would like some DLC that allows you to become the Elder of BOS, Director of the Institute, President of the Enclave, etc. and actually get to control your faction instead of just The Minutemen. Then choose which one you want to continue with. That way people that are sick of The Minutemen and want another faction to build up can do so. Basically a Create-A-Faction/Manage-A-Faction Mode.

Place outposts, secure resources, delegate tasks, fire/recruit staff, upgrade and develop new weapons and armor, Be able to expand the map beyond the Commonwealth and into other parts of New England.

An update that allows you totally re-spec your perks would be nice too.

I've been pushing for Vault-Tec as a joinable faction DLC for a while now. So if possible we can make our own vaults and experiment on our settlers :)

At least let us meet the big guys, or what's left of them.

It should be the Lost City of Atlanta with mermen and mermaids created through exposure to radiation, FEV, and a Nuka-Cola plant.

Why not have the ability to restart a Nuka-Cola plant?

It would be cool to have a more corporate/commerce oriented faction. There's still plenty of moral ambiguity to be had there.

(I personally think the Railroad would have been better as a chain of side quests.)

I......NEED me some Enclave. I dont care how brutal/extreme their ideology is, I just want more exposure. In this game, it seems you have to pick the lesser of the evils, anyways. That being said, I feel as though the enclave needs to make an appearance. I would gladly undergo any trials to suit up under the enclave banner. Surely to god, with how inventive these writers are, they could somehow make it work.

The game has so much aspects that deserve indepth and i believe that we don't really need anything involving an enclave return or even something sick and broke like aliens invasion.

There'd be actually alot more interesting seeing Institute and Railroad past and reasons, more side quests, more weapons / armors / clothing, eventually a minuteman reshape or anything along these lines.

The game have original content that deserves attention, not ancient, old, remade content that would hardly fit the scene, imho.
