Fallout 4 DLC suggestion

Post » Tue Jan 19, 2016 7:28 am

I'm going to get straight into it

i would like to see a direct link between fallout 4 and new vegas

i would like to see the lone survivor fight courier 6

well here are some suggestions to how to connect the two together

courier 6 hired kellogg to investigate the synths present in the commonwealth, so he could find a way live for an extended or infinite period of time. For this to work we will need to assume that he took the yes man route, because he would have wanted to remain in control of new vegas indefinitely. i want this dlc to be as difficult or harder then the lonesome road dlc. I also want courier 6 to have a already been perfect and immortal synth replica with his brain and all its memories intact as you enter the dlc

the reason why the lone survivor is brought into the fray could be for many reason, but what i find most appealing is if courier 6 had not only got control of hover dam, but also have subjugated ncr and ceasar's legion, and is proceeding to conquer the rest of the post apocalypse united states, it would be nice to have a couple references to Alexander the great, and courier 6 sent a message to all of the commonwealth, among many other surviving factions or places along the eastern coast, giving them an ultimatum, either be conquered and die or surrender completely, both the land and the people.

i want 4 major routes, 1 is the route you fight for the commonwealth, i want this to be the easiest any most common route, basically you use some prewar nukes to level the enemies standing army down to almost nothing, 2 is you betray the commonwealth, i want this to have the best solo rewards, but destroy almost every relationship you have with your companions, use those nukes to destroy your own standing force, and 3 i want this to be an extremely difficult route and have the best companion based rewards and maybe even get courier 6 as a companion, peace trough unification, and last but not least, i want this to have almost no benefit as its the price you pay for failing to achieve route number 3, peace by surrendering.

and that is all i got at the top of my head for ideas, any constructive criticism wanted, also some ideas on other ways this can be done

Few holes in your idea.

How did the Courier even learn of the Commonwealth?

What about the Couriers appearance?

Fallout 4 is set 10 years after Fallout 3, New Vegas is set 10 years after fallout 3. Spot the problem there?

How exactly would the Courier amass such a force to conquer so much of the US as to threaten somewhere thousands of miles away?

Ideas are nice, but really this one has so many holes in it that it just wouldn't work.

according to fallout wiki, fallout 4 is after new vegas, and by taking the ncr and ceasars legion, he has said that army, and the dlc can be set slightly more in the future if he still technically needs more soilders

To be the devils advocate this seem's like a bad idea. mainly because the courier was technically your character and mine, except the courier wouldn't be my courier or your it would be Bethesda's courier. Not to mention the near impossible chance of the courier going cross country. Personally i'd prefer if Bethesda centered the DLC's around the commonwealth and simply expanded the accessible area of the map with new content. this is what i posted on steam, under a very similar topic thread. (Not sure if anyones said something along these lines already but i'm just here to give my two cent's so here it is. I want the DLC to add to the game maps base size getting rid of those "you cannot go this way messages" instead of taking you to a new area that you simply fast travel to, like allowing people to explore further into the glowing sea or mountains to the north and maybe even the ocean. for content i think it be cool to see the remnants of the enclave as a faction you can interact (would allow you to build heli pads, vertibirds with nose art that you could use if you sided against the BoS) with based of off which faction you joined for the main story. Indian casinos would also be really cool(like the Tops,Gamorrah, ultra lux), and a supermutant army thats an actual functioning military force (and those supermutant drill tank looking thingys from the concept art, sorta like the masters army so that they could properly explain all the supermutants in the commonwealth, Vault 87 is just a BS excuss in my book), and maybe even going to the forbidden city in china (the majority of people are all ghouls that want revenge for the great war and you have to stop them?) and more to do with all those old pre-war ifv's and tank's. and the sea of tranquility, cause the moon and pre-war space battles sounds pretty nifty. Also can I please tell the ??????? thats alway's fly that brotherhood vertibird to circle around the location so I can use that minigun on enemies.A real hardcoe survival mode would also be nice.)

My ideas of some basic dlc ideas are:

-A pre war dlc

-A underwater dlc

-A dlc that involves the enclave

-And lastly a dlc with the aliens or in space, as we saw in the begining of fallout 4, when were rescueing Preston so did we see a timeline of wars where one scene is fought in space

in response to your message http://www.gamesas.com/user/983632-thatonevaultdweller/ thank you for the critism btw

i have no defence for the your courier versus my courier thing simply because i never saw that as an issue

and i am merely going to defend my case again, transportation by air via boomers alliance, it would not be to far out of the realm of realism, since the boomers probably not only have access to prewar schematics to air vehicles like the vertibird or even more planes like the one seen in the game, though it would take time for them to make enough cargo planes, hence why i suggested a small time lapse of maybe 1-5 years

and besides, your idea about going to the moon and is way more outside realism anyway, why mention traveling far distances as an issue then mention going to the moon and china?

and thanks for the addition as well http://www.gamesas.com/user/1005952-lennartsson/

Oops, my mistake, New Vegas is 4 years after Fallout 3, but my point stands.Six years is too short a time t conquer enough of the US to threaten Boston. Especially if you factor in consolidating positions, subjugating local forces, the lengthy campaigns need to take down the NCR -Which controls pretty much all of California, what we see in New Vegas is a fraction of their force, overstretched and under supplied

The Boomers would still need to land, they'd also need to hear of Boston and the Institute which hadn't happened 6 years previously and I haven't noticed anyone mention anything about NV in FO4 so it doesn't seem like they transfer over.

Also requires the Devs to cannonise everything about the Courier who is a product from another studio.

in reply to your comment http://www.gamesas.com/user/483070-deventarn/, in the lonesome road dlc you have the option to nuke ncr and/or ceasars legion if i remember correctly, theres your unification, and to answer the other either A. they did nuclear bombing runs on some of the major remaining commonwealth's B. captured half the united states, and the eastern commonwealth unifies with the other common wealths to try and prevent the coming invasion

and to reply to vegna post, as i said before they could do a nuclear bombing run with the cargo planes, and then attack with vertibirds, and (spoiler alert) when you look through kelloggs memories they mentioned the ncr, and the cannonise thing, i thought they were both done by bethesda so it wouldnt be a problem

Consider Beth already try and avoid canonising the player character from 3, I would assume that philosophy would extend to NV protagonist. So I doubt they be into the idea, plus I feel they want to keep the focus on the east coast and leave the west coast to the old games/ any Fallout games Obsidian might do in the future.

Yeah his memories mention the NCR but it doesn't mention New Vegas. The BoS in D.C. have only just been able to put together a strike force to deal with the Institute and they have had 10 years and only have about 440 miles between them, NV has only 6 years to have found out and launch a strike force over 2,600 miles.

Then them nuking the commonwealth? That would destory everything we do in the game and for no reason. Also we didn't see any ability for the Boomers to build new planes, they were able to repair the bomber from the lake but they didn't seem to build anything from scrap. They also don't have any Vertibirds, we only know of 1 in the NV area and that's only with the ex-Enclave.

Nope. New Vegas was done by obsidian. Bethesda just published it. Even then they try to avoid seeing previous characters or detailing them too much to avoid canonising aspects where possible.

...I....Don't think my Courier would have a beef with my Sole Survivor...Both were moderately nice if not sleezy guys who perforated bad men for kicks.

Well, to be honest, your idea would cement a definite version of a character many people have very personal touches and ideas about. That would rub wrong on a lot of people. It's why people didn't want the Lone Wanderer showing up in Fallout 4, because you can't really trust the Dev to be faithful to each players interpretation of that character.

I mean, sure, having the heroes of Fallout go Smash Brothers on each other is a great idea on paper...

What I absolutely hate with DLC is that the Player can't leave the hole without being molested by insulting Journal cluttering quest popups that cater to lazy players. I didn't hear rumor, I didn,t receive a letter, nor meet a npc, I just crawled out of a hole for christ sake! If there is going to be these lazy bum quest, atleast put them on a quest bulletin board in town so that the player can ignore them. Otherwise, let the players have the fun of discovering these DLC quest on their own.
