Fallout:NV Ending Goes To Main Menu? Why?

Post » Wed Sep 22, 2010 12:58 am

I was wondering why it has to go to the main menu i know it happened on Fallout:3 and then fans begged for it to continue if fans wanted Fallout:3 to continue so much with Broken Steel and were so mad because it went to the main menu why did they do it with New Vegas? Why?I was so happy when i got broken steel for Fallout:3 because i could continue the journey but it makes me sad how the mistake was made again.

yay another end game thread

The reason its ends because its the END. also if they didnt end it they would have to show every possible ending there is, which is just unreasonable.

Not another one of you... They said long long long time ago that the story would end and you also get a warning stating that the story would end. Some people like a straight forward ending.

Plus look at it like this... DLC = $$$
Even if the DLC doesn't make sense to the story/ending... they always figure something out, good or bad, to make that extra $$$

Okay, I can sort of get why people are annoyed by the fact that you can't play after the ending. What I don't get is why people are surprised by it. The game tells you this is going to happen. I haven't even reached the end yet and I know that!

Ahem.
1. Please do not put the text in size 4 bold. It's not needed.
2. I believe that the devs wanted to give the game a definitive ending so that the people who played it could see the consequences of their decisions. Broken Steel just made you see how little your choices actually changed the wasteland.

Would it kill you to try and research a subject before starting a forum topic on it?

It's been officially explained more than a few times, that it would ruin immersion as major happenings in the ending would have such an effect on the gameworld, and that they could not realistically account for all of these. So the game ends, just revert to last save and keep playing.

and even if they wanted too make one. they would have to make one for every single story path. N.C.R, House, CL and independent

and so many little diffs it would just be impossible. maybe if they released a massive expansion in place of any DLC

They wouldn't have to add it onto the story they can have a message pop up or something ware it tells you that whatever you do after this point does not go along with the story or something because you no how crapy it is loading a save before the ending leaving the place and doing more quests.

Just cuz they stated they won't make another broken steel.. doesn't mean their not gonna push a DLC was some BS in it thats "kinda" like broken steel... but in the end they can say it's "not" broken steel. If get what im saying... $$ is $$...

its suprises me that im suprised people are suprised about this.
We all predict thousands about these types of threads, along with "its only a expansion" and people confusing hardcoe features for glitches.

i was fully aware of the definite ending months ago, i fully embraced the idea.

Im talking about people not appreciating the ending as it is.

Pop-up that says "ok, go wander, it's got nothing to do with the plot" = re-loading your last save and going to wander

They're the same thing. Only one doesn't take any extra programming.

Man it's the official fallout forums... every [censored] comes here to complain about something lol.. and i think people not appreciating the ending is a lower issue compared to some of the crap i've read here. Why buy Fallout if your not a fan of the series people.. jesus

I'm starting to think Obsidian should have just had pop up tutorial boxes in the beginning in addition to all the others saying things like:

"The game has a definitive ending 50+ hours from now. Prepare for it, you whiners!"

"You will get a perk every two levels - this is not a glitch. Get over it!"

"You will not get enough skill points to max everything. Yes, this is on purpose. Make decisions and live with them!"

We would get a lot less of these threads on the forums everyday. Maybe Obsidian can add these notices in a patch?

Can't mods shut down these clone threads?
Starting to get annoying to have a dozen new "Why can't I continue playing after the end?" threads every day.

Your making it sound like i hated the ending thats not the case at all i loved it and it was a very fun game i just wish we could continue to explore without re-loading a save and leaving i loved the ending dont get me wrong i just didnt see why they dont put a pop-up telling them the story was done and they can continue to wonder around New Vegas. But i'm sure nothing will change.

Oh, we can, especially if people report them.
