Hey guys I've noticed a rather annoying issue in that if I minimize fallout 3 with alt + tab 9/10 times it will fail to load up and I will only get the sound :flamethrower:.

Is this a known issue and if so are there any work arounds/solutions as it is getting rather frustrating.

Oh I have the GOTY edition if that makes a difference and am playing on windows 7 64 bit.

try minimizing all other windows that usually works for me.

This happens to me as well, although like you say, it's not every time. I'm not sure if having other windows minimised is helpful. I'm on XP.

I've never noticed anyone complain about it before, but yeah it does svck. it means that if it's a gamestate I meant to keep, I have to save my game before tabbing out kinda. bleh.

Try opening a notepad doc or your task manager to switch to with Alt+Tab or try Windows+Tab instead (game appear as a blank ...rolodex page).

Fallout3.exe *v1.7 in Win7 x64 generally phases in/out with either method on two different rigs for me, so there's bound to be a way.

*versions other than 1.0.0.15 and 1.7 tend to crash more, from what I've seen, when Alt/Windows+Tabbing
