Some FAQ items worth noting:
When I launch Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, I’m getting two options to run the game. Which one should I choose?
When launching Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, you can decide between launching the game normally (community modded game with high resolution enabled,) or in “classic version.” You have the ability to play either version using the same set of saves.
I noticed that my saves are going to the Cloud. How does that work?
Saves for Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics are uploaded to the Cloud each time you exit the game. Please be aware that saves will be overwritten if multiple users and multiple Steam accounts are running the game on the same computer. This is because the game puts all saves into the same directory and cannot differentiate between users. It is recommended that you keep a copy of your saves in another folder in case you have more than one Steam account on the same computer.
What should I do when I receive the error “BOS.exe has stopped working” while trying to play Fallout Tactics?
We recommend that Windows 7 32-bit users run the game in compatibility mode to resolve this error.
Can I still play the multiplayer mode on Fallout Tactics?
The multiplayer mode is still available and requires a direct connection.
What language support is there for Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics?
- Fallout: Fully localized in German (including voiceover). Text localization for French and Spanish.
- Fallout 2: Fully localized text in German and French.
- Fallout Tactics: Fully localized text in German and French.
I have 3rd party mods installed on my existing version of Fallout and the Steam update now prohibits me from playing the game. What can I do?
Without official mod support, you will want to make sure that your game files are unaltered. You can always reapply mods after getting the required Steam update.
