Fallout Fan Film "Blind Fire"

Post » Tue Jul 05, 2011 2:09 am

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and figured I'd post my Fallout Fan Film. The film itself is a prequel/promo for a full length Fallout Feature I'm planning to shoot this summer. The feature is still in pre-production as I'm still securing various abandoned locations and finalizing the script. Anyways, let me know what you think and any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Those look pretty cool.

I loved the Pipboy at the end of the prequel.

Most of the gear and clothing looked far too new and clean though.

Maybe both of them have washers and dryers? ;)

Looking over the second trailer I gotta say that it needs to have some more Fallout touches but it don't need to be stuffed to the core with Fallout references.
But yeah, the clothes are a bit too new and it feels more 2011 post apoc than 50's 2077 diversion post apoc.

Very nice, this is the sort of thing that I like. I wish I could do something like this but with my state that's out of the question, the cops would shoot me even with a water nozzle(happened not that long ago, guy died) and as I want to use real guns.... Although I do differ in the fact that I would only really be able to do pictures ( http://postapocalypticearth.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=10843620 http://postapocalypticearth.webs.com/apps/photos/album?albumid=10849920 ). Also if your interested I can give you a few sites that are Post Apocalyptic themed that would love this sort of stuff, one that I run(sadly it's slow right now, though all the pa sites seem slow) one that I am a mod on, and one that has been around for age's. The one I mod on has a owner that is a big shot in the PA website arena and I am sure he would love to see this stuff, so if your interested pm me.

Yeah, now I'm anxious for the actual movie (or series whichever you're going for here). I rarely get to see these completed.

Don't worry, I have full intentions of seeing this through to the end! I actually just secured a full mental institution/complex for the film yesterday. Underground tunnels and all, it's got the works and I've got full access. I also got a prop sponsorship from Evike.com going as well. With any luck I'm hoping for a late Fall 2011 release date. I'll release it as a series on YouTube and as a feature film on DVD for friends/family and local viewing.

Well he doesnt live in the 50s but yah I gotta say, besides being said to be set in the FO Universe it doesn't seem to have that same Fallout feel. Although the props such as the Pipboy 1000 will give it that edge as to beign Fallout, The trailers eemed to be mroe actioan just to draw people in.

That being said it looks very, very awesome, I hope you get to complete it, adn everything is doen very proffessionally. It looks so real all the explosions and stuff, I would say you might become a director in Hollywood if you really try cause that stuff looked amazing, Im also assuming youve built most of thsi by hand adn have low budget.

And how do you get so many fake guns???

@MouseKing, they are probably airsoft guns. The gun effects r fx programs like Adobe After Effects. Then again, my fx knowledge is limited to what I learned from YT's Freddie Wong (freddiew). I got a few airsoft guns, a g36/sg556, nothing like the expensive Marui stuff.

Thanks a lot man! All of the actual props I built myself and paid for out of pocket. As for the guns, most of them are old beat up airsoft guns I've collected from friends over the years, along with a few I bought myself. However, the double barrel in the second trailer is real, my family's got a handful of real steal rifles but I rarely use them and when I do they never leave my property.

More so on the Talon Company side of things with less aggression. The story is centered around a lawless town that acts as a hub for Mercenaries and Bounty hunters across the U.S. The vast majority of the characters's morales will lie with the highest bidder

Looks good. Only problem I have with the first was the camera used but it is not that much of a problem.

Second one as others pointed out feels way to modern. I like the energy weapon and the fighting.

All and all you and your team are doing good :foodndrink:

Need some ghouls in there.

A ghoul would be an interesting test.... If you can show off a ghoul, or better yet, a supermutant, then I could get on your side.

Will do, Once I got the ball rolling I plan on having somebody shoot some behind the scenes footage and posting it periodically as the project progresses.

If I do it, I'm going full out supermutant! I even have a huge body builder buddy that's willing to do it... only problem is finding someone to do all the make up for a couple of hours

I can't imagine the prosthetics and full body makeup would be cheap either. And just a single mutant? Meh....
I think we just found one of the primary reasons why a theatrical film in this setting hasn't been made yet (and likely never will)... the sheer cost of all the SFX would be outstanding.

I'm pretty sure if he had more money adn wasn't indie then it would be quite easy to afford.
