Fallout Fanmade webseries.

first of all ide like to note that i work at a professional studio and have the equipment to make this look good.

This is insipired by the series "Nuclear coleslaw" that intern is inspired by Fallout
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adRPzOgJjrI

but as you can see, they dont stay as true to the series. The porm mag used should have been the "the kats paw" or atleast a 1950s era rag. As well they dont tend to lend anything much morHee to the series other than the caps.

FOR WRITERS
Now what we need are some good stories.
The idea isnt to be be long running storyline, but to follow the random encounters, events, and survival of wastelander in the same way nuclear coleslaw does.
we also need some ideas ASAP so we can start the first episode.

here are some guidelines
We have all of the software and skills to make special effects like muzzle flashes, lazers, explosions, ect.
We are limited to actors, we already have a good wastelander, but we probubly wont be able to get more than 5 actors at a time.
We are also limited on props, see for prop makers.
We are based in louisiana, so desert scenes are out of the question, this place is coverd in plenty of abandoned buildings and junk yards.

FOR PROP MAKERS (for more advanced expensive props, we would gladly return them when we finished useing them) (also be sure to check my fallout larp thread comeing soon)

We can easily reproduce things that can have labels printed out and slapped on an existing box, like mentats and buffout ect.
Nuka cola and caps, buying cokea-cola in its classic glass bottel form isnt cheap, and none of us are real beer drinkers. so tons of caps and classic coke bottles would be useful.
Guns, we dont have the budget to create accurate representations of fallout weapons, our solution is "zip guns" these being hand crafted single shot rifles and pistols, that wouldnt be far from common in the fallout world. What we need from the fans is to buff up our variety. If you can make accurate fallout weapons, we would gladly use them.
We have the capability for some semi accurate ghoul makeup, (the nose is the only problem) but if you want to donate fx makeup ect feel free.
We wouldnt really expcect to use much brotherhood of steel, it would be awsome.... but just too expensive.
Super Mutants are basicly impossible. We dont have anyone near that type of stature.

WAIT WAIT WATI! : wait till we finish the first episode. we want you to know we can do good quality work before you start sending us props.

I really, really respect what you're trying to do, and if I didn't have such a busy schedule, and also if I lived in Louisiana, I'd help you. I have the talent to cover props, act, record, and all of that but all I can extend to you are these words, so I'll give you my story. Look at http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1101560-watelander-named-marcus/page__p__16107301__fromsearch__1&#entry16107301 (yes it is misspelled that way on this forum) and read my first chapter, then look up http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1101713-wastelander-named-marcus/page__p__16110458__fromsearch__1&#entry16110458 for all the others.

Wish I could be of more help, just ask if you have questions.Good luck!

This is a damn good idea, if you manage to pull it off that is. I'd like to contribute to this, so after you show your first episode I'll write something down :)

So, do I have this correct? You want self contained short stories?

Um, sorry to burst your guy's bubble on this, but this would be deemed as advertising which isn't allowed on the boards. Sorry, just want to warn you ahead of time. Might be good to find a Mod, and keep in contact with each other through PM and whoever else might be interested, rather than a thread that's going to get locked if a Mod comes smelling around. So yeah, might want to contact a Mod on this one.

hmm... i wouldnt really take it as advertiseing as its non-profit... its more like "look at my art" but the art is a webseires.

also you can send story ideas now, i just dont want people to donate props if it ends up being a bust.

Yes i do plan on it to be short stories each episode, with no over lapping story arc, other than each encounter is about the same character, and events in previous episodes may affect the main character (inventory, wounds, ect.)

Example: one story might involve the character stumbling into a raider camp, and getting a broken arm durring the struggle, so the next episode may be entirely devoted to searching a hospitol for a stimpacks, or doing other encounters whilst still haveing a broken arm.

3. Advertising is not allowed.

Please do not use these forums to advertise your non-Elderscrolls, Fallout or Bethesda developed or produced related forum/website. We make exceptions however, as many people like to post links to websites in the Community Discussion forum such as showing off their work, or linking to something funny or a link to illustrate a point. We do not allow threads to be created for things such as classified advertising for business, sales, or to seek users/moderators for your personal forum.
There is a pinned thread for fansites in the Oblivion General section, Morrowind General Section and Fallout site the Fallout General section where you may post your Oblivion or Fallout site. Please ensure your site is appropriate for this forums members. You may also place a link in your signature to your site as long as it is appropriate.

Ok...do you have any character in mind?

Since this story follows one man's adventures it's not really much different from any other story.

You should set up a thread. Either create an opening for the character for yourself and posters here can rotate about adding to the story....

Or you could run a contest for character ideas. Have us each post an introductory story for the character, then set up a poll so we can all vote on which one we like the best.

Alternatively...you could perhaps look at Lorca1s story about The Pitt and Marie Ashur.

EDIT: It's not really a business or sales. He's not making any money off of it and he isn't offering any money in exchange for writing or prop production.

this is who we plan to play our main character minus the glasses. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs207.snc4/38685_140336722662105_100000573354803_287044_6397010_n.jpg
we are basicly going to go the loner madmax type route.

Also i dont want to break canon. so i dont want to do locations from any of the fallout games. also im gonig to avoid useing anything from the vaults besides vault tech advertiseing ect.

basicly, i need the writers to come up with "encounters" something that wouldnt involve more than one setting change.

basicly just looking to survive. no real quest. unless you can think of something that will work well.

one of our guys has an old 1960s mustang, ive got the idea to do some simple moddifications to turn it into a "corvega" and the story would be that the main character (lets call him max for writing purposes) meets a ghoul mechanic whos been working on this car for 200 years (why its in good condition) eventualy, the ghoul convinces max to go to a junkyard setteld by biggot humans and get ahold of a part for him.

here are a few of our ideas, they are lacking and need a bit more to them.

raider games: Max is walking along and gets hit in the back of the lower leg with a big [censored] lawn dart. he falls to the ground being struck in a tendon, and preceeds to rip out the now bloody dart. At this point the camera pans to no more than 3 raiders on higher ground literaly "rofl"ing. Suddenly one of them is struck by a bullet, and the camera pans back to max reseting and reloading his single shot zip-pistol while still on the ground. Another pan reveals the raiders grabbing more lawn darts out of a whole box full of them. Pan back to max, a dart lands very close next to his head, and he gets up and tries to limp to cover while dodgeing more darts. - now, i dont know what to do with the rest of this encounter to make it more interesting.

head hunt: max finds himself being hunted by a band of urban tribals with their makeshift spears and whatnot. This would be great if i could find "parkour people" (for lack of a better word) to chase him in the urban jungle while doing parkour along side him on rooftops ect. - but again i have no idea how to end this one interestingly.

people food: max finds himself purchasing and eating iguana bits, but somehow discovering that something isnt right, and investigates. He learns that its human, and gets into a fight with a big nasty wasteland butcher.

(probubly not possible due to budget)Lost empire: max finds himself caught between a radical anti-communist group, and a village of asian people decended from prewar imgrants who arent truely communist at all. He meet the anti-communist group first, believing they are just a nice wasteland village. The leader convinces him somehow to that the "communist" asian village has been constantly attacking and raiding them, horrable things ect. On Max's arival at the asian village, it appears to be a oriental themed raider village on the outside, but on the inside it is truely a peacful village who are just trying to survive while being constantly harrased by the anti-communist group. Eventualy max learns that he was on the wrong side and sets off to get the anti-communist of their backs. They accuse him of treason and attempt to arrest him, max tries to talk them out of it, but inevtably has to deffend himself from the stubborn bastards and fight his way out of town.
^^^ if i had the budget i would have the anti-communist population entirely elderly people. He would have to deffend himself from grannies with double barrel shotguns ect. l

I'd like to see a chase scene involving the max dude, and a bunch of -really scary, fast-moving, rad scorpions that are cgi-ed into the scene...

or am I being too ambitious?

I think people would complain about how unrealistic CGI looks in it. 99.99% chance says that WILL happen if he uses that.

My job at the studio is 3d animation actualy, i could probubly put the scorpion in.. buuuutttt rigging, modeling, textureing, texture mapping, hdri capture, camera mapping, all by myself would take an ungodly amount of time. especialy something that has 8 legs 2 claws, and a tail to animate.

actualy we use toilet paper too to ad that flakey skin effect. the only hard part is getting rid of the nose, ears, and quite alot of hair. We are going to color the hair, as it seems to be what ghouls do.
