Fallout 4 feels immature

Post » Mon Jan 18, 2016 7:14 am

I like that Fallout 4 actually has people in the Rail Road that bring up the idea that Gen 3 Synths could be considered people but agree that there is the issue of where you draw the line. Would Gen 1 and 2 or a computer count as a person?

Thats the discussion though, are they just robots or humans? Seems very complex to me. You writing it off, does not mean it is completely written off.

He runs the show along the whole of the East Coast of the United States? I don't think so.

I would disagree about not everyone resorting to slavery. A lot of people would. In a world without machines to do the work (for the most part) one has to rely on man power. Thus groups of people would force other groups of people to work against their will.

The not everyone resorting to slavery argument would also apply to not everyone resorting to raiding but there are raider groups all over the damn place. One could argue that if you are willing to kill people over a few caps and put their body parts on spikes and even wear them as closthing... you would also be willing to enslave people.

Over used? You mean like Super Mutants, Brotherhood, Raiders and so on. I guess you could argue those things are "key parts of the game" but then you could say the same about slavery.

No need to feed.

Fallout 3 91% game magazine review, Fallout:NV 84% game magazine review, Fallout 4 84% game magazine review.

The only thing i see now is that Bethesda lost 7% in quality from game magazine reviews.

And whatever you say now about your quality control, 2010 Metabombing was NOT existent. That crap started end of 2014 and got strange in 2015, not before.

And if i take these obviously clean scores the indication was that the users in this time prefered the Obsidian style a bit more then the Bethesda style.

Adding Steam reviews for compairson they support that theory, NV got a bit more positive reviews.

Back before they had these forums the Bethesda servers would crap out once too many threads hit 200+ posts, so they closed them then. Now its done because most threads have derailed before 200 posts.

Why not? the Legion did it over a much larger area.... but let me guess. Its ok when Obsidian does it?

A lot =/= all. We dont see slavery in much of the post-war U.S. actually.

Because the whole East Coast of the United States is a large area. Ashur didn't seem to have influence beyond the Pitt. At least not much. So to say he controls all the way from Maine to Florida is odd to me.

New Vegas actually tells us what the Legion controls at least an idea of what he controls. I don't recall any mention of Ashur being top dog for the whole Eastern Seaboard in Fallout 3.

He controls everything from D.C. to Toronto, and theres nothing along the east coast from D.C. until you hit maybe south Carolina, just a bunch of dead land.

It was literally the whole promise of The Pitt DLC, and why there were so many slavers, but so few slaves, in D.C. all of them got carted off to The Pitt.

The entire city of Rockopolis got carted off to become slaves in The Pitt.

The funny thing is that from my perspective, they did.

Look at the stories in broad terms. First you are given a McGuffin to chase to get you involved in the world. In New Vegas it's chasing down Benny to recover the package he took and avenge him shooting you in the head. In Four it was chasing down Kellogg to recover your kidnapped son and avenge the murder of your spouse.

After tracking down and dealing with the McGuffin you find yourself in an open situation where you are able to tip the balance of power between four competing factions looking to capitalize on your talents in order gain control of the Wasteland.

Moreover, the companions are more like New Vegas than Skyim, being well developed with stories and often personal quests associated with them.

Hell, even the praise for New Vegas for including things like agriculture which was lacking in the Capital Wasteland has become a major feature in Four's settlements and whatnot.

I would say that Bethesda drew quite a bit of inspiration from New Vegas when building Fallout 4.
