Fallout 4 feels short in content.

Again you are dishonest. I could quote those who say exactly what I say. And the two examples in the bottom are even saying exactly that the dialogue and game is casualized.

the fact that there are good honest reviews that give a low score, doesn't change that there are tons of 0/10 reviews from people who haven't bought the game and disliked it because of the hype and because they didn't like something from the leaks

things like the "you can run accross the map in 11 minutes" video

Metatroll

The problem with this site is anyone can get on there. I pay it no attention. Also, Steam users disagree.

I feel the opposite as it ruins my game and makes me feel disconnected to my created character...I feel like I'm playing Brian Delaney wearing my characters skin, not the character I have in my mind.

A voiced playable character only works in a game where you're a specific individual with their own style and mannerisms. http://i.imgur.com/iL1qIUN.png doesn't sound like that, my guy doesn't speak in that way and my guy doesn't react the way he does to everything...yet Brian Delaney does it for my guy so I can't immerse myself in my character like I could in Skyrim. I really wish I could just turn his voice off and put subtitles on.

...and yet it still has an 85 metacritic score for the PC version, and even higher for the console versions (which is absurd, because the console versions have performance issues, but it is what it is).

The player character voice is a complete non-issue for me. Sounds completely fine and unobtrusive, and I'll take it over the normal gaming trope where your character is a bizarre mute who everyone talks AT, instead of TO. The lack of detail in the dialogue trees is a legitimate issue sometimes, but is easy to rectify, even if Bethesda keep rolling with it. There's multiple mods out that have already changed it.

Actually, the map is roughly the same size as Skyrim's.

I mean if i see the same User score on other website i will be ok with Metacritc one, but come on is the only website where the game si comming with a 5.3. LoL steam user give the game a 81%.

is a design decision that we need to learn to live with, similar to DA. First game your character was silences, 2 game wasnt and 3 game wasnt. U could agree or no but they probably did a marketing study and see that the majority of the ppl tent to respond more positive to a voice PC that a silences one.

AND ppl need to get in thier head that games are made to make money and of curse they will tent to get more ppl with every game they made.

Metacritic user reviews are worthless, because 80% of them are people giving a game either a 10 or a 1, typically based on some pet grievance of theirs, and not an objective assessment of the overall product.

Skyrim for PS3 has a higher metacritic user score than Fallout 4, despite that part of Skyrim being legendarily broken. That's ridiculous.

And the density of the map is like nothing I've ever seen. I've got 150 hours in and still haven't seen everything in the north (working the coastal areas as we speak)...and still have the entirety of the southern part of the map to explore. Map size is not even close to being a valid criticism in my view.

The map is only "small" if you're merely walking through and bypassing the nearly infinitesimal detail they've layered into the terrain.

I don't think much of metacritic either. So many reviews were the day it came out with 0 or 10's. You can't even tell me that they had enough time to actually rate such an extreme with so little playtime, if they even did play it at all.

As far as peoples complaints, Morrowin had customers in an uproar and obvlivion was a constant huge debate with tons of griping. I think skyrim had the least amount of complaints, even though it's probably my least favorite of Bethesda's Fallout and Elder Scroll games. I liked it, don't get me wrong, but it's my least favorite, for several reasons. Fallout 4 has a lot of griping, though I'm not sure if it's reached Oblivion level yet.

Worrying about what most people like or don't like is probably a waste of time. Decide for yourself, give your feedback, but don't expect others to agree with you, you will be disappointed.

As far as the Fallout 4 map, there is a lot there. I'm not close to exploring everything and still have not finished the main quest and I've got about 5 days into it.

actually no one tested, lol u just see the stupid video of a dude running.

To actually teste the size of the game we need to wait for the creation kit to be release so we can see how many cell the map had. and compare to how many cells the Skyrim map had.

If you turn off collision you can run across Skyrim's map in 11 minutes as well.

One of the genius features of Skyrim was the way it used mountains and uneven terrain to make the map seem and feel larger than it is. FO4 doesn't have this, so the map can seem smaller.

Again, total dishonesty. Or ignorance, most likely both. Steam users does not disagree if you actually read the reviews. Almost everyone that makes any lengthy review on there mention the lack of dialogue and the problem with a voiced protagonist as a flaw in the game. However you can only give the game a thumbs up or a thumbs down, so there is really no variance there. And just because you hate something in the game it does not mean you want to thumb down the whole game. And even if you just measure thumbs up or downs without any reflection on the content it is still the lowest rated of their games.

Anyone who actually think the new dialogue system and the voiced protagonist is a "good move" for the series does not really understand the essence of the Fallout or TES series or even what an open ended RPG should be about. It is a terrible system, and decision, and it has become more clear then you could ever ask for, it is a simple as that.

that the map feel shorter bc the mountain or uneven terrain doesnt mean the map is 1/3 of Skyrim.

That why im saying the real test will happen when they release the Creation kit.

I don't know man, I saw a vid where it took 2+ hours to walk from one edge to the other. Are you really saying that mountains make the trip 12 times longer?

Walking and running are very different travel speeds, so it's more like 4-6 times longer instead of 12. As such 2 hours doesn't surprise me at all, given some of the dead-end mini-canyons I ran into while exploring in Skyrim.
