Hi i bought Fallout 3 Goty edition on steam layed for 6 hours or so wihout any freezes or crashes then after i got to Vault 112 its started freesing like every time i load a file the record now ive had is like 5 min without crash can someone help me?.

Post a dxdiag.
XP: Go to Start->run, type “dxdiag” and hit enter. Click the Save All Information button near the bottom right. This will save a Dxdiag.txt in C:\ by default. Then open the dxdiag.txt and copy/paste the information into your post.

VISTA/Windows 7: Go to Start->Search, type “dxdiag” and hit enter, click the Save All Information button near the bottom right. This will save a Dxdiag.txt in C:\ by default. Then open the dxdiag.txt and copy/paste the information into your post.

Try the multi-core fix.
Open up the .ini file located in My Documents>My Games>Fallout 3. *Do not alter the one in the actual game directory labeled Fallout_Default_ini*
In the FALLOUT.ini find the line

bUseThreadedAI=0
change the 0 to a 1

then below it add the line

iNumHWThreads=2

I have already tried that it didnt help :/

wait i think i used the default one and now i found the one with the name FALLOUT instead of Fallout_Default so i will try

Hey can one of you help me? My GOTY is freezing horribly too. I have several mods installed, but they never caused any problems up until a couple days ago, I never fully crash but my game always freezes and the only way to quit it seems to be the task manager. Then I restart, and boom, it takes between 3 seconds, and 10 minutes, but it always freezes. My game is fully patched. Can someone PLEASE help?
