SAME.

For me it was overheat. My ps3 is like the first vers. EVER, so I have to play with it next to the open window to stop it from overheating. You can buy fans that attach to the end of your ps3, you could try that. Good luck!

This is how I get around “freezes” on the PS3. It only happens about once every 3 (real) days for me. Some spots are worse than others, you’ll be able to tell when the animations aren’t “smooth”, when in these areas give the console plenty of time to “catch up”. When you quit a game, quit through the main menu – don’t just “turn-it-off”. Turn off auto-saves. All saves should be to “Create New Data” (try to avoid overwriting an old save). Save frequently, but every few hours go in and delete all but the last two of your saves (I keep 2 saves on my most current character, one I’ve saved from when I was just about to leave Vault 101 for the very 1st time, and a couple more saves of a good and evil level 30 character for a total of 5 saves). Note I may have 10 or 15 saves while gaming, but periodically I quit the game (through the main menu) and delete all but the most current 2 of my current character (and the three I mentioned above).

I don’t usually use followers, when I do; it’s no more than 1. I’ve heard that having several will cause crashes. Maybe someone else can shed light on that.

And last but not least, on a weekly basis, donate at least 100 caps to your local Enclave collection center.

*nodnodnod* ... Mhmm, that's right... *nodnod* .... WAIT WHAT?!

^this, but ignore the Enclave part XD

Seriously, the screen lag is important, I should have mentioned that.

Everyone knows The Enclave has superior technology, therefore insuring a sma-ooth experience. You wouldn’t have him donating to the UGA (United Ghoul Association) would you? Believe me SimplySleep – you might-as-well flick your caps off the top of the Washington Memorial just for jollies and giggles – maybe, just maybe, one of those caps will careen off the head of a SuperMutie and cause 1 hit point of damage…

I say this every-time.

  • Delete your GAME DATA UTILITY!
  • Then RE-DOWNLOAD THE UPDATES.
  • Then wait at the main menu for it to RE-INSTALL itself to the hard-drive.

There is no other cure for the freezing. I can promise you that it will cause less lag & crashing but eventually you will have to do this method again.

I also have reduced framerate and occasional glitch after a few hours of play.
Has anyone tried buying an intercooler and a stand - I noticed my desk is warm under
the ps3. Increased airflow and better exaust flow might help.

As for followers: operation anchorage was very buggy when I had a full squad following me,
ran much smoother in the wastes when I did my lone ninja routine.

Im afraid to say but I dont think cooling can really help with the glitches, it may be able to help with freezing though. No doubt sometimes when you think the game is at error for freezing it may be the PS3s hardware overheating. I made a powerful cooling device for my PS3 made out of PC CPU fans but it ran off of a USB port which only outputs 5v so it was very limited to the amount of air flow it could move, for that reason I didnt really see any difference.

Its always hard to tell whether or not 3rd party cooling devices really work, this may sound like a joke but the PS3s cooling pattern was highly tested and any added cooling could do the total wrong thing why messing up its heat dispensing routine (even though the phat PS3s cooling system is a complete joke) I would say the best bet is a Talismoon Whisper Fan, its a 19 blade fan for the PS3 and it replaces the original fan inside (so PS3 stripping is required though) its meant to cool better and be much more silent.

Pray that Bethesda bites the bullet and does something about it. But get comfortable......it might take awhile, they have other "NEWER" products to sell first.

I use a $14 fan to carry off the warm air my PS3 produces so that it's not svcking warm air back into the unit. I was actually forced to do this procedure because I had PS3 total failure blinking red light of total PS3 DEATH this all went down during my first three minutes of exploring Point Lookout for the very first time. On my new machine (120G) I had to reinstall everything and since my old 80G PS3 totally fried I lost all my game saves (only one I really miss is my Oblivion character over 800 hours ~sniffle~) Anyway the freezing still happens from time to time maybe I'll try this again to see if it makes a difference but for the most part the freezes aren't a big deal I just restart my PS3 and load and early save if the auto-save freezes again after reload. As for the PS3 freezing if I play any game long enuf it happens it just happens more frequently when I play FO3, for me the games such a blast to play I just don't care I get around it [the freezing] most times (lol). I hope FONV runs without freezing but I'll play it anyway as I have already pre-payed for my copy at BestBuy lol.

Go Fallout New Vegas I can't wait WHOO HOO!!!!!

There's no reason this game should have such points where it's unbearable to play or you can't even play at all.
Like it is now it shouldn't have even been released for sale yet.
People shouldn't have to keep reinstalling the game or clearing the cache on their consoles just to be able to get a few more hours in on it.

I bought the base copy and the 2 expansion discs for the 360 and Dl'd zeta. Freeze, choppy gameplay etc...

I figured if nothing else I could play it on my ps3 as well for trophies....so I went out and picked up the goty edition. Dear god.....it's even worse on the ps3..

I hope....I hope... I hope the game staff did a better job with new vegas. I feel like breaking my F3 discs. Maybe I'll see if I still have time to return the ps3 one.

There really should be a giant sticker on Bethesda's products saying "runs horrible on PS3."

That or it should have a label saying: "Makes a great drink coaster."

I wonder if I could fedex my Goty ps3 edition to them and put a letter in it saying. "You need at least a repair skill of 10 to make this game"

or... "Please apply (Alien Epoxy)" humm.....
