Fallout game in Canada?

Post » Fri Jun 18, 2010 10:02 am

So i was just reading through the fallout wiki and i decided to read about the Great War and it talked alot about the annexing of Canada by the United States, and it appeared that there was a lot of conflict between the United States and Canada. Also in the original Fallout there were a few characters that would refer to Canada. In Fallout 3 there was a 5% chance of finding mail in mailboxes adressed to "newly annexed Canada, in Mothership Zeta you had the option to destroy Algonquin Park in Ontario,Canada.I was just wondering what everyone else thought about the idea of having a Fallout game or DLC in Canada.

Maybe a DLC in another Fallout game, but the Fallout series should stay in America.

Sure. Since Canada was annexed by USA pre-war, it was part of the USA, and it's also a part of North America. So it's not really outside of America using that argument.
I'd like to see something take place around the Great Lakes, both on Canadian and American soil.

I agree, the Great Lakes area would work well as a setting. Nice change of pace from the ruins of DC and the desert of Nevada.

Ronto was mentioned in The Pitt, which is post-apocalyptic Toronto

yes i read that too and was going to mention it as well but i forgot. Also i just believe it would be nice just to see what things are like in other areas, see if the U.S. still occupies canada, just what kind of stuff is happening in different areas of the world other then just the states.

It could also be Toronto, Ohio.

I am for some locations in a future Fallout to be in Canada.

Also this is in the wrong section.

Wait, you want to see Canada before seeing New York City, Chicago, Boston (Commonwealth)? There are plenty of other places that we haven't seen in America, which would be far more suitable for a Fallout game.
I believe we have a thread for this, btw.

Canada is already a barren wasteland if you don't count the border shared with America.

Canada doesn't exist in Fallout, what we call Canada is part of the USA, so we could go there, but.. Nuclear winter makes you wish that you were patrolling the Mojave.

It might be cool for a dlc, like somebody else said go see Ronto. It would probably be cold and snow covered which would be a nice change of pace from what we've seen so far from Fallout, excluding the abortion that was Operation Anchorage.

A game centered around moose hunting and mapple syrup sounds very dull.

Well Canada is a large country. It's not just Toronto. But having a game around the Great Lakes would be cool. Maybe a DLC for the next Fallout 4 (New York?). Take the train to Buffalo and then to Toronto. Now that Skyrim is dropping this fall and these consoles will be with us until 2013 - 15 do you think Fallout 4 (creation engine) will be released on these consoles or do you think we have to wait until the next generation?

It doesn't at all? The fallout occurred all over the world, it doesn't say anywhere it has to be in the states

I think the borders of Canada will likely sneak their way into a Fallout game at some point.
I wouldn't care.
As long as we aren't isolated in all the woods up in Northern Canada. That'd be boring.
And if for some reason the Fallout series made it's way (back) to Alaska, I think you'd see Canada including in that too.

Giant irradiated moose, (mooses, meese, meeses, wichever ) would be pretty wicked. I mean they're pretty dangerous to piss off as is, imagine if they were huge and had a few extra ramming heads. Just sayin, I would not like to be the person in the car to hit that, ever.

Naw. I like the states being the main setting. besides, Bethesda is based in the states anyways I think. it may be kinda hard for them to create a whole new story for canada.

besides, I don't know about you, but I don't wanna get pillaged from mutated hockey mutants armed with hockey sticks and beer. Don't get me started on their moustache attack lol.
