Is fallout 4 going to be on the 360?

Post » Thu May 31, 2012 3:32 am

I have heard talk about how fallout 4 will be on the 720, but the 360 is still alive and going strong so surely they will have fallout 4 ready in time for it?

Of course not, the Xbox and PS3 are already at the end of their lifespan. If Fallout 4 is going to be any better than New Vegas it has to be on next-gen consoles. Also, Fallout games take more than a year to make.

Xbox 360 is 7 year old hardware, I assure you that Fallout 4 will not be for the 360.

These people, and everybody else, know nothing for sure.

If it comes out before 2013 then yeah, it'll probably be on 360 and PS3. But after that is questionable.

It may be old hardware but it's popular hardware that will make money.

What do you mean better than NV? Graphic wise? That doesn't matter much, so long as it's more than one pixel per object. Story wise? That has nothing to do with it.

There has been no official announcement about either hardware platforms or software products. The gaming industry is in a state of major flux right now, according to various financial anolysts (and game companies like Bethesda and their parent, Zenimax, exist to make money, not lose it). No one is sure what path will be taken by any company in the future.

You may want to wait until after E3 to see if any official announcements are made about either hardware or software.

I hope they take their time with F4 and do it as a release title for the next gen + PC. That would relieve them from having to work around all these technical limitations, like limited numbers of simultaneous actors, short draw distances, cells... Hopefully that also leaves time for a proper amount of quest- and faction content, akin to New Vegas. That's the stuff that brings the gameworld to life.

i really wouldn't be surprised if they had FO4 be a launch title for the 720 and PS4. That way they have a large amount of time to devote to building the game without pressure because hey, nobody even has the hardware, so why worry about software release? Also, that gives them the opportunity to work with next-gen capabilities like scab said. What i'm wondering about is if they're gonna use the unreal engine 4. i've heard that there's a good chance that the engine will be supported by the 720 and PS4 so it would be nice to have the game made with the newest and most capable resources

when you look at early 360/PS3 titles and compare them to today's releases you realise how limited they were compared, things that seemed amazing at the time now don't look so good. Wouldn't it be better to have Fallout 4 as a swan song for this gen rather than baby steps for the next gen?

Putting the game out on the Xbox 3 would be good but I want the game now lol. So if they put it on the current Xbox with the Skyrim engine that would still be awesome and I would be more than happy to play it

Nobody can say for certain whether FO4 will be next gen. or this gen., it's completely up in the air and nothing more than speculation. Bethesda has said nothing on it, and until they do, anything more will be pure speculation and rumor.

Personally, I don't see why they have to put it on the next gen. systems? I know that by tech standards, the PS3 and 360 are a bit dated in how they work, but really there have been games recently released on them in the past couple of years or so, that have played and looked great. Most of which haven't even pushed either system to their maximum potentials. I'd at least like to see a game do that before they start pushing out a new platform.

I don't think that was Nuka-Cola in that bottle...

Anyway I hope it's released on the next gen. console. This gives Bethesda more time and better tech to work with. Honestly I want them to just take their time and make a masterpiece. They made enough money on Skyrim already.

Let's use http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1376080-fallout-4-speculation-suggestions-and-ideas/ for speculation, thanks.

Fallout 4 haven't even been announced and neither have the third Xbox, so we really don't know.

But if the third Xbox is released in early 2013 as rumored then the game Bethesda Game Studios is currently working on (which might be Fallout 4) will probably be for that machine. Bethesda do like to use the console launch hype for their games if possible, both Morrowind and Oblivion were released only a few months after the Xbox and Xbox 360 launch and their next game probably will too. But if that game is TES6, Fallout 4 or some new IP, is way too early to say.
