Fallout 3 GOTY edition DLC issue

Post » Thu May 03, 2012 5:27 am

ok This doesnt make sense, I have asked here and no one replies so I guess no one has an answer. I have the PC GOTY and all the DLC has installed to the DATA folder of Fallout 3 on my PC, when I load the game, it says extra content loading BUT when I sign into GFWL I click Downloads and none of th4e DLC is listed...

I am realy confused (it has not installed vuia Steam)

Any tell me why this is happening and why it has not installed to DLC folder just the Data folder and why no DLC is listed in my downloads BUT I just got out the VAult the Point Lookout and Into the PITT distress signals are found? Have I got the game and DLC running ok?

TIA

I read your other one too , sounds like its working fine if your recieving radio signals per DLC that you enabled. Im not sure how it works with steam launch .... but in a regular PC launch .... the very first screen that has the word play on it. From that screen you select Data to view the DLC's and you check the ones you want enabled for the moment (can uncheck them anytime too) after checking boxes (keep fallout3 checked always) then click ok ... from there just start the game as normal. The next menu you Load or start a new game. In my experience that Downloads button has always been greyed out and unclickable ... but Ive never downloaded content either. Once your in the game ... It will bring up each DLC via a radio signal one at a time.

Oh by the way ... enableing the broken steel DLC will make 3 dog spoiler the end of the main quest plus you cant start that content without completeing it anyways. It will also make Dogmeat and Fawkes way stronger.

IMO you shouldnt need to enable any content right off the bat.
Ancorage first lvl 4ish the rest not till teens to twenties. But leave broken steel alone if you dont want the spoiler.

Thanks, So the DLC is working. I have the boxes checked in the launcher....its just that they dont show up in the downloads menu of the main menu like the xbox ands PS3 versions do,,,,very confusing....also its not installed to user profile/appdata/microsoft/xlive/DLC folder (that is empty, all DLC is in the Data folder of the the bethesda Softworks main folder>Fallout 3>Data(with Fallout 3 maps and DLC esm/bsa listed) and fallout launcher/exe files in this directory....only in (x86) Program Files.

Cheers

Yep its all there in Data ... Ya the term DLC is still being used for them rather than Expanded content. Wich is what they are considering they came on disk vs downloading them.

Im guessing they would only appear in your Downloaded folder had you actually downloaded them.
