Fallout 4 Graphics Underwhelming

Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 7:40 pm

"Fallout 4 trailer is here, and gamers are over-excited. However, I am not because the graphics look so underwhelming compared to Witcher 3.Yes, it is very clear that Fallout 4 is an open world game, but you know what? So is The Witcher: Wild Hunt. Some might say it is not fair to compare the two games, but why not? Both The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 are open world titles, and as such, we cannot just claim them to be so different to not warrant comparison. The Witcher 3 has a vast and active open world, yet the developers managed to deliver great-looking graphics across all available platforms. This did not hamper gameplay; nor did it make for a less enjoyable experience.Fallout 4's bad graphics should come as a surprise to no one at this point since Bethesda's open world titles in the past had proven to be quite ugly when it came down to character models. You see, the world itself looks great, but the characters never managed to get us saying, "WOW."You see, usually when a company releases a trailer of a game, it is to get fans excited, not to have them questioning the possibility of purchasing the game when it comes out."

I realy wanted to see Falout 4 in new better engine ,not 4+years old engine ,for God sake its 2015! Shame on you Bethesda!

The graphical comparison between TW3 and Fo4 ignores the fact that nearly every item in Bethesda game is physics enabled, which takes up a lot of processing and graphics power, whereas TW3's world is almost entirely static objects that can never be moved, and thus has a lot more power to devote to pure graphics.

Also

art style > pure graphics.

Yes it did hamper gameplay, because a game like Skyrim or Fallout 4 would not be possible with Witcher 3 graphics on consoles. Educate yourself before you post.

As much as I love Wither: Wild Hunt I only really like it because of its quest-design, story and visuals...but gameplay is certainly NOT for why I play this game. The Elderscrolls/Fallout are games people play mostly because of its gameplay and design, rather than story.

Why do you think that so many people bought Skyrim? Because it was looking like Crysis 2?

Rumors state that the game is supposed to be 2 to 3 times the size of Skyrim. Not to mention all the physics that goes into a fallout game.

I like it how you didn't even write this yourself. I saw some article saying the exact same thing.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

Except even wild hunt had to cut up this "open world" into large zones divided by lengthy loadtimes, while Beth is most likely aiming for one big map, not only that but its also kinda unfair to compare the two because both use completely different engines, its like saying you can fairly compare a average sedan with a Ferrari because both are cars.

Company like Bethesda who have all resources to make what ever they want ,they do not use maximum but minimum and that pissed me off .If CDPROJECT witch is dwarf compared to Bethesda can make masterpiece and true next gen open world game , should be able to make best game in history ! but NO . Bethesda is thinking like this .. lets use minimum eforts and get maximum money , becaouse they know that half of fan base are brainless sheeps with no critic opinion....

Or the OP can get what he wants...a overhelmingly beatifull trailer !

And complain about the downgraded graphics later on just like witcher 3 was...

Doesn't make much sense to complain about it now does it ?

Think what you saw is a work in progress and hope that they will give a improved product later when its done (this year maybe).

Judging by this logic Pokemon shouldn't even sell more than 10 units because its graphics look bad.

Yes and judging by this logic video games should've died a year after the first one was released, ever. Because it had bad graphics.

Explain how Morrowind(unsure about Morrowind but it's what I've been told) and Oblivion were ahead of their time in graphics then.

Pokemon doesn't attempt to look realistic. Fallout does.

I did and he is right. You don't understand what he means with that. In Witcher 3 when you enter a hut from a village you will see dozens of objects....but....you cannot do anyting with them other than staring at them because thats what static objects are...they're just assets. While some of them have physics enabled, so you can throw them down with Axii most of them have not and the player cannot interact with them at all. In Bethesda games you encounter objects like that aswell but usually 90% of all objects you can find have a use. You can pick them up, sell them, use them for crafting, you can throw them around. Every of those objects have physics enabled by default. You can't even disable them because it's an integral part of the gameplay and design.

Witcher 3 is a beautiful beautiful game, because of its set-pieces and atmossphere.

In Witcher all the items from your inventory are nothing but 2D images and code. Except for weaponry and armour which you can only change on your own character but neither are dropable or able to pick up from the groun/from an enemy.
