So like plenty of others, I am having the dreaded issue of 'Fallout 4 has stopped working', proceeded by a blackscreen and appcrash notification as soon as I hit 'play' in the launcher. I've tried as many fixes as I could find and so far nothing has done even the slightest bit of good, unfortunately.

System-wise, I am more than able to play the game, or should be.

GTX 960 4GB Video Memory

16 GB ram

and all the hard-drive space in the world

Have you been able to play the game before?

Could try "Steam Verify Integrity Game Cache"

(Might have to upgrade to windows 10 since new drivers only support win 10)
