It'd be a pretty good idea, and yeah we already have the wiki but some of the editors of it are pretty opinionative and state it as fact so this could help elimenate that.

I wish Bethesda would actually make some kind of Fallout encyclopedia/novel/anything, I'd eat it up.

There already is a history of Fallout. It came form game guides as well as the Fallout Bible which was updated a couple of times, author Chris Avellone. Still the games are the only true place for canon info. Complicated thing is Bethesda is the one in charge and the bible isn't really a source of canon (depends on who you ask). There are also problems with the bible and it only covers Fallout & Fallout 2 time periods. Bethesda to my knowlegde respects the Bible.

When it comes to things like the Vaults the Bible is a good place for info. As long as it does not go against the games themselves the Bible is ok with me.
