Fallout Hoarders Anonymous

I imagine most of us have had experiences with hoarding ALL the things in NV - and if you haven't, I envy you.

Playing on hardcoe mode, this can be quite distressing. You don't have a gun that uses that ammo type, but it's such a shame to see an ammunition box go unemptied ...

The mass of guns in NV cause this problem in me really badly. I find myself buying guns that my character can hardly even use, that uses the same ammo as my gun of choice that I actually can use, just to have it and look at it. I have also taken to collecting vast amounts of pre-war outfits, all of which I try out, trying to find the pimpiest for my Lady Killer sniper character.

Anyone else have tales of compulsive hoarding and kleptomania?

(oh and don't even get me started on Nuka-Cola, jesus christ)

I am a compulsive scavenger, but on my last few playthroughs I've actually tried to play the game without any base. I used to keep almost every unique or useful thing I could find, but I've really enjoyed having to make the total weight of everything I own below 50 units.

I'm quite the opposite, I have a thing for keeping my carrying weight as low as possible. I dunno, it just bothers me if I'm near the weight limit. That's why I often don't pick up even semi-useful items.

Yup, that's me. And OWB's Sink made it even worse :swear: Constantly over-encumbered. Despite using a mod for backbacks that increase carry weight by 85 units. Trimming inventory down for HH is diffcult, and i always resturn with too much stuff :lmao:

But it could be worse. In Oblivion you were completely immobile if you were carrying too much :hehe:

I limit myself to about 3-5 bottles of Sunset Sarsaparilla, limit my ammo depending on what weapon I have, use light or medium armour and always, always, always(ALWAYS!) use the cap to weight ratio in everything I pick up. If I'm playing a Guns playthrough then usually the heaviest thing I have in my inventory is lead, Hand Loader is a life saver for scavengers. I've gotten to the point where I've had Pack Rat and I still had just under 70 units of lead.

Seriously YES i have tried this. I usually use every building that doesn't have enemy spawns, as a base. That way i always got a base out in the field. Right now im in HH, haven't entered the strip yet, and i got 6 bases all over. Hell i got two bases in goodsprings alone.

I'm a hoarder as well. Even for weapons I won't use. But the issue is I haven't found a place to store my crap just yet.
