If you could have a choice of a post apolictic war somewhere in the world WWYP? ( Where Would You Pick )
I know that Washington D.C, Pennsylvania I think, Las Vegas, Alaska, California all have been used for as location all ready. If I am missing some please do correct me!
Anyways I thought this would be a cool topic to discuss, write down some of your ideas!

I hear that Sawyer has displayed interest in doing a prequel to the series, showing the events of the Great War, in Europe. So that was my vote, although that would be more of a Pre-Apocalyptic game.

I live near DC so I kinda got my wish with FO3, would love to see a return to cali (probably a dlc plan), otherwise a russian or chinese fallout would be interesting if out of character a little. Seems they want to keep it in NA if not for pure shock value than for comfort.

@Gumpy: I think he was saying it was going to be more like a round based fps rather than an rpg

Keep it in California.

Though if the slides are any indication, a good guess for the next location would be Idaho.

Parts of Fallout: Tactics take place around Chicago. I'd love to see more Chicago since I live there and it's the 3rd-largest and most populated metro area and economy in the country, but I guess it's already been used. Texas would be cool, as there's a good mixture of different types of terrain. The Pacific Northwest would be pretty cool, as would the U.K. and Western Europe. I'd tend to shy away from New York...mainly because it gets so much exposure already and Bethesda might make their way up there eventually with the East coast Fallout games.

Hawaii! I suspect they'd been directly hit though, not much to take them out.

So true, with Europe being known for having such a war background. I think that would be an excellent idea to have in a RPG game.
Any part of Europe you specifically would want the game to take place?

I think Hawaii would actually be fine. They'd be SOL though... No imports from the other 49 states. Nukes are targeted to major military installations, population centers, and missile bases. Hawaii's population is miniscule compared to other states but there are a few military bases there. Who knows? Just guess China would have to think it was a priority over other targets.

Europe, for the simple reason, I live in it and it has a war background so it's perfect for a future event.

They fired 77 nuclear warheads at Las Vegas and its surrounding area, I'm sure they could have spared a couple for the Islands. And I think we have some important bases over there... I think.

@Hyper Almost every where has a war background

If nothing else it's closer to China than any other U.S. state...that alone would make it a target.

Edit:
Hrm...well, I guess it's not any closer than Alaska, but still...if I were China I'd hit that.

In the Zone. Stalker has the best world. The Chernobyl exclusion zone with it's insane beasts and deadly anomalies is a fun place to play. It's all I play outside of NV and FO3. Much nastier world. NV is almost like a vacation.

Totally voted for Toronto. Glad to see Canada wasn't forgotten (even if the rest of it was :P).

Well Florida and many other low level places are more then likely under water. Unfortunatly that includes NY though I admit I would want to know what happened there during the war.

I suppose if I couldn't pick America I would go with the other country with the most diversity race wise which is Africa. Though a visit to china would be interesting. Don't really know how they fared the war.

I personally would like to see Denver and the surrounding area. Aside the fact that I live here and think it would be great to see in a video game (I'd settle for GTA, or something like Midnight Club), it has an awesome setting. Mountains/plains/lakes/highways/hills/fun destinations (arena, stadiums, train station, tall buildings, old mines around, former Rocky Flats (nuclear weapon trigger manufacturing), Boulder (environmental nuts & college kids). May not be the perfect location, but I think it'd be a lot of fun and they could get a lot out of it.

Sorry, that bugged the living hell out of me...

I say bring it to NYC, I'd love to run around my own city in the Fallout Universe... I mean, how cool would it be to identify places in Fallout that you know IRL as you obliterate a mutant/raider/feral ghoul/etc?? :fallout:

I would like to see California, but I really think New York could be done really really well. You have a massive city (NYC) and it's already naturally broken into areas for differing groups to control and you have the surrounding parts of the state itself. It would be dungeontastic (or should be) with the subway and all the high rises. You would need to be more observant, because there would be lots and lots of vantage points.

I think Paris would be cool, I can imagine some people holed up in the Eiffell tower or the Arc de Triomphe, and imagine doing a quest to get the elevators on the Eiffell tower working and then you can get a trip up to the top to be greeted with amazing views. Or some extreme cultists in Notre Dame or Sacre Cur. It also has a thriving metro underground.

I think that would be cool killing ghouls in Times Square, going to Central Park at night hunting Nightkins.
