Fallout 2 installation problems.

So I got a new computer with Windows 7 burnt into it and I'm trying to install Fallout 2.
I got the White Label Fallout Collection, when I try to use the Setup file to install it the usual "Are you sure you want to use this file?" comes up and I click yes then the screen goes black.
Like, if I press ESC it shuts down, and I can alt tab out without any lag or anything, and if I press Enter then I can hear the CD spin.
So I think the installation progress is active, just that it doesn't show anything on the screen.

Any way I can fix this?
I've tried changing the compatability to 98 but didnt work too well.

You could try fiddling with the visual settings in the compatibility tab (the boxes beneath the OS), also make sure Run as an Administrator is enabled. Alternatively you could just download a fan made installer http://fallout.vacau.com/ which comes packed with the unofficial and high resolution patches (the latter which you'll need on Windows 7 since W7 doesn't seem to like 256 color applications).
