Fallout 4 Japan

Help! Can't seem to get a clear answer. I am a Canadian living in Japan and want to know if my brother sends me a physical copy of the game can I play it or am I going to have problems with the region lockouts?
My countdown to release went from 3 days to 5 weeks as Bethesda is still working on the translation. Heartbreaking ;( Especially as I just upgraded to a GTX 960 graphics card and 32GB RAM this weekend in preparation. Checked the forums and messaged Bethesda but no love.
Anyone able to clarify? Thx in advance.

Well the Japanese copies won't be available until December. You might be able to play early with a North American copy, but I'm not sure if Steam would region lock. I doubt they do, but not sure.

According to Fallout 4's Release info, the Japanese version just has Japanese voice/text with no English voice/text. So the answer of it being released in December is far more complex and not something that we can answer. Although, I would imagine that unless there is some heavy censoring going on with the english version of Fallout 4 in Japan, then you should be able to get it this week through Steam.

Something tells me that a post-apocalyptic open world RPG set in a nuclear wasteland called Fallout will do very well in Japan. B)

if you are on steam go to your username and account details and change your region to Canada as long as you have a Canadian credit card. Im stationed near Tokyo and as soon as I changed that to United States it changed everything to $ and my date went to NOV 10. At that point I bought it and preloaded.

Thanx all for the feedback. Bethesda came through and allowed Japanese residents to download the English version at the same time as North America. So my countdown clock on Steam went from 5 weeks to 7 hours ;)
Whoo-hoo!
