I don't trust orcz and their lack of sources, it feels like they just make stuff up and I will never take them seriously. I mean, honestly, why would they use any other key for VATS but V? V was perfect, and it's the first letter. Sprint should be shift I feel since that's an easy key to reach as it will be used often, not caps... and run could be caps so if this is correct I'm definitely remapping keys. And anyone else think G makes the most sense for grenade, not because it's the first letter but because of its ease of access?
Thats exactly why I think its accurate if they were making it up, they would put V for VATS
Explain your thought process, I don't follow the logic haha
What a crappy control setting. Will be re-mapping.
If I were guessing/making up the controls and wanted people to believe me, I'd say V is for VATS
since they put a different key for that it must mean theyre not making it up
dunno if its because I'm lazy but I always just keep the defaults even if I hate them
So why would Bethesda arbitrarily change the bindings from Fallout NV?
I would think the default set would be something the fan base was used to, and make only what changes are needed.
In Settings, it would be great to have some default sets to choose from, like Fallout or Fallout NV, with individual keys remapable.
First run though, I am going to try to force myself to use my Xbox One controller. Does not come easy for an old keyboarder.
all is concentrate on my left hand, like i normally play other game so is fine, but yeah i will make some change.
Then clearly "logic" is quite relative, because that's utter nonsense to me.
maybe that's what they want you to think.
Ever since Morrowind had space for activate and E for jump, I've always remapped Bethesda games to match that. It's so ingrained in me that when i first buy one of their new games, I am surprised that it is the other way around.
Also, damned if I'm moving my little finger up to capslock to sprint. I shall be avoiding awful hand cramp by moving sprint to Shift and making capslock the run toggle, as God intended.
Am guessing Bethesda didnt just randomly assign keys, they probably tested hundreds of different configurations to see what worked best, so you should at least try the default first before remapping
Q for vats!?
V for changing view!?
What kind of black magic heresy is this
preorder canceled.
Melee/More Attacks/Grenade is set to a single key. So, a single key handles both melee bashing with your weapon as well as throwing grenades? Yeah, I don't buy it.
Well, the keys are correct:

Well, I'm going to be doing some rebinding then.
RUN toggle to CAPS key.
Sprint to Shift key (LIKE EVERY OTHER PC GAME BETHESDA!)
VATS to V key.
Favorites to Q key. (Like in Skyrim.)
1st person/3rd person toggle to F key. (Like Skyrim.)
Melee/Grenade to Middle Mouse Button. (Keep all combat keys on the mouse.)
Crouch to C key.
I don't use typical binds usually, anyway. My "sprint" key is always Left-Alt, with melee bashing & grenade hotkeys mapped to my mouse's side buttons. First thing I was gonna do was rebind before starting, so eh. No big whoop.
Yeah, there's always lots of rebinding to do.. But that's the nice thing about the keyboard/mouse setup.. so many buttons, so many ways to use them.
don't cancel your preorder, am sure someone will make a mod eventually that binds V to VATS
