Fallout 4 kinda svcks - for me

Skyrim Diversity?

>Dumb drunk awful Viking stereotypes

>A bunch of whipped Roman LARPers

>Annoying Nazi Elves

That is basically Skyrim itself in a nutshell

Wow such diversity indeed, by the way can you fetch the mead I left in Draugr dungeon #42526?

Sorry but diversity and story-telling are on Fallout 4 sides. Fallout 4 does either descriptive and environmental storytelling or both in nearly all of its areas. Skyrim storytelling is basically summed up as a note on corpse if there even is a story. Also while there are some Fallout interiors that do look similar there is plenty of variation among them. For instance, a building could be a factory, restaurant, apartment, hotel, school, laboratory, brewery, art gallery, store. hospital, mall, drug den or station. In Skyrim a building is limited to just being an old Imperial fort and occasionally a temple.

Also way to make a faulty one-sided comparison. You are forgetting Fallout 4 also has among others.

-Ghouls

-Triggerman

-Robots

-Alien

-Deathclaws

-Children of Atom

Not to mention that Fallout 4 has a far better variety and uniqueness within enemy types. You got the Forged and you even got Norweign ghoul Raiders in Fallout 4. The Mistwatch Bandits were practically the only unique bandits in Skyrim and besides their name they don't stand out at all.

because he mentioned it by himself in his first post?

here ^^:

I'm really not the one bringing Obsidian into the arguments... just seeing tons of people on here always praising them over anything Bethesda have done.

They certainly did a great job with New Vegas and I would be happy if they made another Fallout 4 spin off, but what is it with all the 'New Vegas' hype on here? ^^

Not going to happen (and if I was them, I wouldn't want to anyways)

Reason being tho, that they are probably going to make the next White Wolf game. Paradox Interactive have recently acquired the White Wolf franchise, with all it entails (such as world of darkness / Vampire the masquerade) and according to a twitter, Obsidian have already been contacted by them (where Chris Avellone is joining the news as well, so perhaps there is a small hope he will be onboard) Fans of VtMB hope for a sequel to it, and I will predict they get it (I certainly hope so!!) :)

For me it's the most interesting to play Fallout that currently exists.

What the game lacks currently for me is variety. When playing Skyrim, everyone and their mother gives me quests, but now it's basically the same 5 people with the same radiant quests over and over again. I would like more interesting and various raidant quests to do. Other than that, this is my favorite Beth game yet.

i cant agree with the OP, i mean the game is way bigger that 3 and NV, with alot more diversity that previews game.

For me is hard to compare it with Skyrim bc on is fantasy game and this is a post apocalyptic game, and any type of fantasy game for me is always better since i love fantasy games lol im replaying DA I again just to play the final DLC. =P

It is a very fun game and I enjoy it. Its my second favorite of the franchise. But, as with all Fallout's I've played, there are things I don't like.

But the mod tools are coming, someday.

Can't see the reason for the criticism. Bethesda games always were about kill, fetch, repeat. Most of todays games are, for that matter.

It was great to start off with but it hasn't nearly held my attention as much as other Fallout and TES titles. Haven't played it in a while mostly due to how shoddy the base building mechanics are. Hopefully patches and DLC will sort it out enough for me to pick it up again.

I feel like the main reason why people don't like/love fo4 is the same reason why people didn't like sw the force awakens. They just expect so much from their loved game/movie that when all they got was fo3 flipped on its side or a mirror of episode lll for Star Wars. People were so disappointed in uninspired creation for both that they can't appreciate the what they got. Also all of the little glitches (jump on the railroads planning table) and the endless 'shoot this' quests. There should be a way to ask for these quests instead of just getting them forced on to us. Lastly the content. I finished the game in just under 3 days not only the main quests and nearly all of the side quests. I got all of the one you get achivments for done. Then I loaded back and finished doing each of the factions main quests. Which took me to about 3.5 days-ish. Now I'm struggling to keep on playing the game because there's nothing I can really do that I haven't already done.

I'd like to see a DLC set in a small area and just really taking full advantage of the time to create intersecting stories with multiple ways to see those stories through. Like set the whole DLC in an area the size of Lexington and just focus on choice and consequence.

Come to think of it...I wonder how voiced protagonist will affect DLC

I really like the game and have put many hours into it. I like the changes to the Perk system, character animation is just awesome. I especially like the way the character starts walking or running from a standstill. I even like the having a voiced character. However I do think they went WAY over board with the radiant quest system in Fallout 4 and hope they use the DLCs to add more in depth quests.

I ended up liking the new approach to Perks/Skills more than I thought I would. I just wish there were more options. I know a lot of people didn't like the Cowboy stuff from New Vegas but I did. Also got a kick out of Sneering Imperialist and the counter to it.

Wasn't a fan of the cowboy stuff myself. But what kept me from really getting into NV was the map and tiny little settlements without much to do. Just seemed like a lot of walking and talking. Granted, just made it to Vegas when I put it down. When I get bored with 4 I may give it another try.

Do that. The second half, after you get through some stuff in Vegas, is where it starts picking up. That's where you get the drive to get out there and meet some factions and whatnot.

Yea, they only games I'd say are as or more scary would be system shock 2, and undying. Running around that house with things chasing you gave me the heebie jeebies. Especially when they'd howl to let you know they were there

After almost 2 weeks of saying "I'll play when I feel like it" I realized that I never felt like it and practically quit.

I'm going to wait until I finish my newly modded Skyrim.

It′s just the fact that obsidian brought a great template for how to implent hooking questlines and big dialogues. There is an interview out there with Feargus Urquhart where he describes that the F3 engine was not even capable to get all these dialogues with their options in so they had to write a big plugin for that the original bethesda engine understands how all these dialogues with their options and results have to be handled.

Fallout 4 delivers a great looking world and a very improved gunplay, but even with a template like the one from obsidian (hell, even in their own Fallout 3 where better and bigger dialogues and quests [excluding the mainquest]) they practice in complete ignorance and drop nice things like the big dialogues and questlines over board to again reduce the choices, dialogues and instead bring back their lame blend quests.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but you said "vaults don't have unique stories and are boring" (to paraphrase), well I suggest you check out vault 81, it really doesn't disappoint. Also check the ship wreckage. There are really several quite interesting side quests.
