I recently began playing Fallout 3 again because I got bored of waiting for other games to be released that I want and it is an awesome game.

I played for a while in point lookout before it froze requiring a hard reset after leaving it for half an hour and hoping it would unfreeze (which it sometimes does do)

My problem however, occurred when I tried to load the near level 30 save and play.

The initial problem occurred when it ran the loading screen where it shows stats and various slides of posters through the game, which didn't disappear. Also, where it shows the level advancement in the bottom right corner showed base level 29 when I was around 400xp off of level 30 which I thought was a bit strange.

Then, I deleted the fallout 3 game data and reinstalled and it started fine and loaded but showed that I was level 29 with MAX xp! I was annoyed to find that after all of my struggling through the game to try and get the last three trophies, I would then have to restart the game from the very beginning to reset the level cap as even my earliest saves at level 19 and 20 all showed MAX xp.

I was wondering if anyone else had similar problems and knew of any fixes for this problem and also if Bethesda is ever going to release any patches to fix the freezing problems.

It is really frustrating as I love this game and always have loved the series yet they can't seem to get the game right for my system.

Am 20 level away of level 30....so I cant help.

That really does not help... you keep posting in threads that are months old, it hard to help people when old threads get brought up it pushes new threads out of attention.
