About FLAK
--------------------------------------------

FLAK is a project with which I aim to add more locations to the wasteland. In particular the North Western section of the map. The locations won't always be massive dungeons or anything, the goal really is to breath in another breath of exploration potential for those who've player the game for a billion hours. Locations will include a variety of dungeons, some simple exterior landmark locations, and maybe even a few locations that the player can use to create a hideout.

If you'd like contribute any of your locations to FLAK please contact me before you begin so that we can discuss location details. If you already have one done simply upload to a file host and send me a link with any other important information. Anyone who contributes will of course be credited for their work.


Locations

Concepts:

Super Mutant Bulwark - A fortified exterior area where super mutants have inhabited.

TeslaCorp Test Bunker
A small underground testing facility. It houses some raiders who are trying to breach a door. After you kill them you can hack a computer (Average difficulty) to enter the testing facility, where you will find a terminal and some energy weapons with ammo. The terminal will say that "The Tesla Cannon Prototype T5 was a success and is being moved to another secret location for further development", or something like that.

3) fort knoxx a secret amoury with a ghoul (knoxx) inside


The Ark - A grounded boat which will serve as a good (Exterior) home for the common wastelander.

(Micro) Raider Totem Pole - A metal pole with several wastelander's bodies impaled onto it.

Raider Body Pit - A pit which a group of raiders has used to dispose of the bodies of their victims.

Eternity Hospital - An old hospital inhabited with raiders, a relatively large dungeon (Around the same size of Springvale Elementary).

Raider Ben's Den - A small personal bunker taken over by a lone raider.

Dusty Crevice - A small inhabitable cave with basic needs for a player home. Near Dunwhich Building

Black Wash Medical Research Labs - An abandoned facility used for research of the effects of radiation before the war now it houses a battalion of feral ghouls.

Half-Way Home Cafe - A cafe with some basic loot and a freezer underneath which was used by some as a last ditch survival effort well the bombs fell, it didn't work. Planned to be near Fort Independence.

Raider Party Barge - A small barge where raiders have setup a bar for partying.

Vertibird Crash Site - The site of a vertibird crash littered with various enclave tech, a nice treat for those like me who don't like to get far enough to have the enclave arrive.

Feller and Sons Tire Disposal - A small facility for disposal of old tires, of course it's been repurposed by some raiders

(Micro) Slice of Heaven - A small field area where something has caused a beautiful flowery meadow to grow.

Baby Maker's Hide Away - A small warehouse inhabited by the odd person that places the baby bombs throughout the wastes.

Good to know someone is adding more stuff in the Northwest part of the map. I remember in the vanilla version how empty it felt there. Especially once you leave Raven Rock.

One thing I'm worried about is things being out of place. I don't remember any urban area where a hospital would really fit.

It's actually almost right next to the Chryslus (Spelling?) Building. That actually was a huge concern with that dungeon. But in the ned it actually doesn't look half-bad. It''s not a very big hospital either so it fits with the nearby neighborhood.

I'm going to try and get some screens up as soon as I can find the time.

If I am not utterly mistaken, molerats, or pig rats at least, the bald ones anyway, are colonial, with a leading queen or something, so you might want to include that in those caves yer planning.

Ah, there we go: two species are eusocial, which I think means they are colonial. And they're the only mammals that are.

Alas, it seems not all molerats are eusocial, so I'll leave it all to your consideration

I've begun work on Dusty Crevice, does anyone have suggestions for location? I was thinking in the cliffs near Tenpenny Tower but I'm still open to other areas.

Mourney's Last Stand
A small cave where you will find a corpse (Mourney) that was executed with a note saying that he was on to the Chinese Spies in Mama Dolce's factory, and that if you read this note you must stop them before the apocalypse. Some loot will be here as well.

Great concepts thanks! The only quibble is that Mourney would likely have rotted after 200 years. So it'd likely have to be a skeleton. I'll add those to concepts and give you credit. :)

1)a Chinese submarine when you swim inside you will find some chinese equipment and a terimal say what happen to the sub

2)used car sale shop : a small buliding with a bunch of (destoryed) cars outside. (fallout reference)

I know there are already plenty, but maybe you could add a few more Suburban houses? You could always make some of the bombed wrecks into half-destroyed houses, Like the vacation homes or retirement homes. (I forgot where they are...)

All sound like good ideas but I'll have seperate ESP for Point Lookout requiring areas (The Submarine).

but in order to use it youd need point lookout as a masterfile because theres not a submarine in vanilla fallout. I like the idea and will keep an eye on it.
also ideas-

Abandoned mine- A mine around the size of the Yao guai den filled with ghouls and radiation

destroyed camp- a set of tents surrounded by a makeshift wall abandoned by a group of travelers. supermutnts/raider controlled

Gunshop (Possibly in one of the downtown D.C. districts)- a derelict gunstore filled with raiders. Locked vault in the back with a nice supply of guns and ammo.

incomplete vault- an entrance to an incomplete vault with no door. Half completed Atrium and living quarters, random critters.

How's this:

Outcast Research Camp
You find a few tents with Brotherhood Outcasts and their robots. The Outcasts tell you there is nothing to see, but if you kill them or persuade them you can access the center of the camp, where there is a tent built around a traphole. When you go down the traphole, you come to some kind of service tunnel. At its end, there is a large door which you can picklock or hack a nearby computer to open (both very hard). If you succeed, you will enter a small armory with mostly Energy Weapons and special data* and ammo and one of two things will happen:

-If you killed the Outcasts, a backup squad will come and attack you (they will be strong - like 3 soldiers and 3 robots in the small space of the tunnel)
-If yo persuaded them, they will take part of their share including the special data*.

*The special data could be something you can take to someone (maybe Pinkerton), who will decode it and will sell you a new special weapon. That weapon can be anything you decide...

How about a small factory where whatever demented soul goes around placing baby heads wired to bombs in baby carriages lives and makes the bombs. I see rows of baby heads staring at me while creeping through trap-laden shadows trying to find the diabolical soul.

I've finally been able to start working on the BlackWash Med Lab. Hopefully I can finish it over the weekend and then maybe consider releasing an early build.

Concept: It would be nice to have a bit of history behind Dogmeat.

A Dog Sanctuary similar to the Deathclaw Santuary would be nice. As far as story line goes, it be nice to find out why Dogmeat left his sanctuary. Or perhaps, he was driven out?

Story to dogmeat- he was the dog of a scavenger that got ambushed in the scrapyard. the scavenger died and dogmeat killed all of the bandits as the Lone wanderer came in a moment to late to save the scavenger.
