Pfft, your face is boring. :P

But seriously, some people find Bethesda games to be extremely boring. Bethesda games become either an addiction, or something a person picks up for fifteen minutes, then is never played again. I have more friends that find Bethesda games to be the most tedious thing ever than friends that love it. It's unfortunate, but it's a thing.

Yep, if you didn't enjoy Skyrim, Fallout 3 or New Vegas, I'm guessing you probably won't enjoy Fallout 4.

Well, they are fun.

But the liberty to choose doesn't make everything based around it automatically good.

I probably played Skyrim for 300 hours or so, but come on, fast traveling for quests and completing those copy pasted dungeons was one of the most annoying things I've ever seen in gaming history.

Of course, there's times where I would be looking at the sky at night and hear the amazing soundtrack, but moments like these are just feelings I get that don't have anything to do with the quality of most of the game's features.

If you feel BGS games are boring then it's time to start reevaluating your gaming persona. Stick with borderlands or call of duty. Fallout is for those wishing to immerse themselves in imagination and exploration. Can't enjoy this if you lack this quality. Sorry but it's the truth! :fallout:

As my mother is so fond of saying "Opinions are like [censored]holes, everyone has one."

I question the grounds for legit discussion based on the OP's original premise. But, hey, not everyone is into the same things. It looks boring to them, then hey it looks boring to you. There's many games on the market that they may find not to be so boring.

I'm getting a vibe of judgement from many posters on here. They're trying to equate personality traits with appreciation for Fallout. Let's be clear here: liking or not liking a game doesn't mean anything. There is no qualitative differences between people based merely on what kinds of games they like. You can't draw any conclusions about someone from the types of games someone likes to play. I'm an avid reader for instance, but aside from the Lord of the Rings, I detest fantasy novels. Does that mean I have inferior imagination or an inability to appreciate creativity? Hardly. I just prefer different kinds of novels. In fact, if you saw my house you might think I don't even care for video games at all. It's dominated by bookshelves (and children's toys). And yet, here I am. I love Fallout, and think they're right up there with the best RPG's ever.

My best friend plays mostly FPS's. He's never played FO and maybe never will. And yet, he doesn't suffer from a lack of imagination or appreciation for the arts or other imaginative pursuits. He's a PhD researcher at a major, nationally renown hospital who has quite a powerful imagination I can assure you. He loves the Met almost as much as me, and not only does he need imagination to create the studies he pilots, but he also loves reading. Kafka is his favorite writer. Talk about an appreciation for creativity. My friend possesses one of the most florid imaginations of anyone I've ever known. His brain is coming from a different place half the time. All this and he couldn't give two [censored]* about FO.

I am concerned that if it isn't boring enough, I'll miss too many days from work and will be fired. But then I will sue Bethesda for providing me with an addictive game. You know because this is America where I have the right to sue anyone for anything because hey personal responsibility/choice/freedom is over-rated

I enjoyed all of Bethesda's previous titles, so I look forward to Fallout 4 with a positive attitude.

It is too too funny, the OP I mean, plus the reactions, if you will pardon a chuckle. "suum cuique"

For myself, Fallout 4 does look interesting, and I will equally enjoy the DLC and all the fan made modifications, in their time. Oh, and I like my tea black, no sugar and no milk.

So many late comers that bought Fallout 3 on Steam for $5 only know the game with all the graphics mods. It's not going to improve in every way over all the possible graphics mods available.

I'm a big fan of Fallout 3. I visited every place and talked to every character there was and I think Fallout 4 is going to be one of the worst games we've had in years.

It looks so damn cheesy and I get so embarrassed everytime I watch the trailers and gameplay videos of the game. And there is also the letdown feeling since Fallout 3 was so good.

I'm quite excited about it. I've loved all of the Fallout games I've played thus far and expect I will love this one as well. So many hours trapped in an interesting world filled with dark humor and fun. This time around it looks as if they have added a bit of hope to the game and that is quite exciting to me. A bit more color and a hint of hope in the musical score are just a couple of things that makes me think this. Our real world could use a bit more color and hope as well. I've yet to dislike a Bethesda developed game. I doubt this will be the first.

I'm quite sure this game will provide me with enough entertainment through the cold dark winter to ward off my usual cabin fever which always seems to find me each year.. If so, that will be enough for me. So not only am I looking forward to the game, I'm overly excited about the time frame it will be released in.

What kind of facial expressions do you think should have been in the footage we've seen so far?

I hope you still try the game, whether you buy it or not, just to see if you might like it. Maybe there will mods that change the game to how you envisioned it, like more muted colors or whatever you don't like about it.

This game looks boring to people unfamiliar with the fallout universe. Those who know the lore are excited for it. And fallout is nostalgic to many such as myself because ive been playing the series since 97. Bethesda did a good job at implementing the original feel of the game environment while changing the entire mechanics system.

That's not true at all.

I never knew what Fallout was when I first bought Fallout 3. The reason why I bought it was because of the cool looking cover art. That's the only reason.

Fallout 3 is much more mainstream and easy on the eye than the other Fallouts.

New Vegas on the other hand was a small release and it's like comparing Inception to Titanic when comparing it to Fallout 3.

Inception is more intellectual and weird (New Vegas) while Titanic is easy to get into, has an edge of your seat story that rely more on drama and suspense (Fallout 3).

I agree. F4 looks its going to be water down ,simplified to the bone . Whats fun in playing Rambo style in the game ? poor NPC animations and main character for today standards ,in 2015 . RPG elements strriped but FPS enhanced . So only story is yet to be seen ...

Hmmm, what about:

  • Perks being more complex
  • Crafting being more complex
  • Settlement building

I'm struggling to see what has been watered down.

By all means share your views, but there is such a thing as 'observable facts'...

You could play Rambo style in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Also how is it more simplified?
