Fallout 4 Map

That's road distance, I am talking about straight line distance, such as seen here.

Olney is only 19.43 miles from the Washington Naval yard in straight line distance.

I would think that the map would be rotated 90 on that scale,, but your point is still good. I think they limited the estimated maps becaus that was what they could prove, given what was shown in the trailer was all we can prove exists currently

OFC, like I said, scale matters a lot.

For example, NV's map was only slightly larger then Fo3's, yet it's diagonal distance IRL is like 80 miles, well over twice that of Fo3's.

awesome work man.

As someone who is scottish and never visited boston it is quite a challenge to pinpoint things like other people. so hopefully as a community we can build this map up

Also I think we will need a little more details on why its up at concord, As I mentioned in my video about the screen coming out of the vault 111 it would be a lot closer(with vault111s landscape to reality -the hill- and also the distancing from the tower)

I think the screens might be a tad closer- like the first one could actually be in lexington for all we know. if you spot other landmarks or other features of why its in concord specifically, do tell please -otherwise its not fully backed up ...yet :P

Beca

Because in the quest objective update after entering the PA and taking the minigun (Microsoft e3 showcase gameplay) it says "Clear Concord of hostiles"

I'm making a new map,No screenshots of gameplay in this one,i will explain the locations with words. The hard thing now is pinpointing the location of the ground zero/glowing sea. Also, there seem to be a variety of quarries around Boston,so i can't really tell wich one is the one we see in the trailer.

That's been my impression too.

Looking at the compass during the game previews, and using the RR petrol station and the water tower as reference points, it would seem that Vault 111 is directly North of Concord.

ok,so...i know that you are not suppose to use imugr just to store images but I can't bother to sign up somewere else.

So,the big blue dot with yellow in the middle is the location of vault 111.

The red one just below it is the location of Sanctuary Hills.

Below that,Concord is marked in yellow.

In Boston the red circle with the yellow cross is diamond city.

The green circle on the other side of the river is the Institute.

The fortified bunker hill monument is marked with a small red dot.

Finally the little yellow mark represents the Massachussets state House and the blue one beside it is Scollay Square.

The green arrow points in the very general direction of the ground zero.

EDIT1:North East of Boston there is a marshy area called Rumney Marshes, which might be in game.I seem to recall shots and artworks of marshy looking areas.

Concord is definitely the town you see the player using the power armour in. In the vertibird, and in the jetpack reveal scenes, you can see how close it is to the red rocket Gas station. Also it says it in the Microsoft Presentation at E3 in the quest logs.

For scales sake, concord is probably a lot closer to boston than it is IRL. But I bet we'll see at least some depiction of the other smaller towns in the surrounding area. I'm more of a small town/rural person so I can't wait to see what they do with them, and the woods, swamps, etc.
