I have spent quite a large amount of time on this map, and I was curious to your guys opinions.

Here is the image of my map, after the first stage in my investigation.

And the explanations of it are in this video...

The video link is also in the description of the imgur pic

Yeah my friend showed me it as I was uploading the video. I was annoyed I wasn't the first :(

We have slightly different results so maybe I could get in contact with the group who did it when more stuff is released and compare notes then. I really hope as a community we can create the map before Bethesda release it publicly that would be great! :)

That's pretty detailed and clever how they used that one building for reference.

I'm sure they'll somehow include the Middlesix Fells for some tribal community. Maybe in a DLC, though, ala Zion in FONV.

No, raiders are for that, tribals are just dumb. How did humanity even default to that level of civilization when it didn't exist in North America prior to the war?

I wouldnt want too much info on the map personally. There is no netter experience of exploration than the when you are still unfamiliar with the map

Probably a huge lack of education. The only reason that as many people are literate at all in the series is most credited to people who descind from vault dwellers who left their vault.

Maybe they're all those Paleo diet people from the inner cities who finally live the livestyle they've been talking to their friends about at that cute coffee shop down on the corner.

Same here. Society isn't going to devolve back to a bunch of Neanderthals banging rocks together.

Yeah, it was cute in Fallout 1, but it has puzzled me ever since just how the hell it got to that point. Mad Max style raiders, sure. Cavemen, no.

Todd Howard has been quoted as saying that Skyrim's map size is the "sweet spot", it's not that the consoles couldn't handle a 30 square mile map, it's the time it would take to develop and populate it.

I think it may have something to do with inbreeding. with survivors in smaller groups/gangs they would have many members to copulate with so the resort to their family to let their name live on, sadly that f*cked up their intelligence. Just a li'l theory on some of the idiotic delinquents within fallout, or crazy drug over use... cough cough point lookout is a good example

definitly, I would like more space between locations so it doesn't feel so crowded. like in NV for example, when one of the desert regions was the size of a pond.

I understand your concern but i did feel like some of skyrims plains were a tad too empty. I know why they were but they could possibly have a few more secrets or even easter eggs as filler.

If that map is true than the Comms tower is right near the Institute and Diamond City (compared to the rest of the map all of that stuff is really close together).

Wow you need to chill.

Some people think they have identified many of the real world places the taller buildings in the trailer are based off of
