Fallout 2 Megamod Problems?

Post » Fri Nov 12, 2010 8:41 am

I have recently downloaded Megamod for Fallout 2 and put it in my Fallout 2 folder. When I play Fallout 2, the things that are supposed to be in it aren't. How can I fix this?

I dunno anything about megamod. But I suggest you use Killap Bear Dude's mods/patches.

Killap suggested on the NMA-forum that this megamod does not contain the newest version of his patch but rather an older one. So I prefer his mod.

Unofficial FO2 patch: http://www.killap.net/fallout2/patches/unofficialFO2patch.exe

&

F2 Restoration Project: http://www.killap.net/fallout2/expansion/1.2/F2_Restoration_Project_1.2.exe

I recently restarted FO2 and this mod works like a charm.
Only problems I'm having so far is Farrel's garden quest (known issue) and the ammo damage formula but I can set this back to the Fallout default in the ddraw.ini file. Now I'm heading off to New Reno in my brand new car. I finished Klamath, The Den, Redding, Modoc, Vault City and Gecko. So far except what I mentioned no major glitches.

Good luck...

By the way do not install FO2 in Program Files on Vista/Win7 because this OS makes a double directory (Dont ask me why, I dunno. It's a Vista/Win7 thingy!) and splits it up in:

1) C:\Program Files\BlackIsle

And

2) C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\BlackIsle

Maybe this is why your mod doesn't work... I had alot of trouble with this idiotic double dir because the main game and certain mods had trouble finding the correct files.

I'm using Widnows 7, but I can't choose where to put things. It immediately puts things into Program Files.

Yes you can, just do a manual installation on the your drive:

C:\Games\Fallout2

for example... (you could use another partition or HD as well.)

* Humongous Installation recommended

Read this to manually install: http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=1593

Further installation information read this: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5061

Then install your mods in the same directory.
