Fallout Miniatures

Post » Sat May 22, 2010 2:37 am

My tabletop role-playing group is playing in a post-apocalyptic setting right now, and we've been using Star Wars miniatures to represent our characters and NPCs during combat, but it occurred to me this week that Fallout could have had miniatures... and probably still could get them! There are so many iconic characters and creatures in the Fallout universe, I'm surprised Bethesda hasn't tried licensing the Fallout game to WizKids or a similar company to make a miniatures game.
I can see it now, you could play the Brotherhood of Steel or the Enclave faction, and there would be independent characters like smugglers and scavengers and raiders that could be thrown into the mix. Ghouls would need their own faction, but sentient ghouls would be like the independents because they would be able to play with or against the "feral" ghouls, but "ferals" would only be able to be on teams where all of the characters were ghouls. Super Mutants would need their own faction, obviously, and robots would be laregly independent.
And outside of a miniatures game, it would just be nice to have a set of post-apocalyptic minis for our tabletop RPG.

But where do you find post-apocalyptic looking miniatures?
I would love to see Fallout characters rendered into plastic the same way Star Wars, Marvel and DC super heroes and World of Warcraft characters have been.

Easiest would be to carve them out of wax and cast a few.

As others have...

"Easiest" Giz?

How about just converting some miniatures from other lines?

Combat armored troops, try: http://www.fantization.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=9720 or http://www.fantization.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=9227

Potential BOS Unit: http://www.fantization.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=10541

Shop around the various miniatures lines... you'll find something, I'm sure.

Games Workshop's products could easily be converted to fit. I'm thinking these could become some Muties with weapon swaps-[src="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50050&prodId=prod1010007"], these could be ghouls (feral most likely)-[src="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50046&prodId=prod1050054"] or [src="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50046&prodId=prod1050048"], raiders with some swaps or green stuff-[src="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat50026&prodId=prod1040523"], and Rangers/Talon/other with a weapon swap and shave-[src="http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1020004&prodId=prod2070014"]. Sounds like an interesting job, Message if you need any help or got any questions. (Srry, not good at links.. :nope: .)

Did the links for you. The format is http://(url%20goes%20here). Or you can just use (url goes here) sans tags, but it's not as neat.
